I don't know if she was an employee or owner, but she was an older lady, and she was very disrespectful.
I went there with my family and all our orders were awesome the thali the dosa the malai kofta was one of the best I have ever eaten the food really taste nice everything was freshly and the staff was friendly. I just seen some people wrote bad experiences about this place but honestly for us the food was great maybe not a super fancy restaurant but very cozy atmosphere and fairly priced large portions we definitely want to come back
One of the worst experiences in a South Indian restaurant. The curries in the Thali were dry from reheating, the Medu vada was soft and cold. Overall not a pleasant place. Save your money and find a better option.
This restaurant is a sliver of a popular chain that has seen better days in the past. Now it is a sad reminder of glory days that are long gone.
Now it’s overpriced, everything is a money grab. Even a little bit of lentil powder(mulagai podi), they charge $2. They charge 3% if you pay by credit card, which is ridiculous. They should bake in the credit card processing costs to their menu prices, but since the menu is already overpriced, they decided to nickel and dime.

Worst food ever :-(
Worst billing ever!
Ordered Paper Masala dosa. Dosa seems fine. Masala was only potatoes and some few seeds... That's it! I expected some onions and may be some more garnishing veges... Tasted bland... No salt or pepper even...
And then they bring the bill with 18% Gratuity added ( we had 5 of us in the group).
I always give appropriate gratuity. These guys deserved none. I would still give some, but without saying anything they bring the bill, 18% gratuity added...
And then I give the credit card to pay. They bring the final bill with 3% more added as CC fee... ( Add gratuity and fees after you eat, so there's no way you can refuse :-( )
None of these were ever mentioned...
Food is useless. Service is equally bad!

Rolled into Udupi Palace for lunch on a Saturday—ordered the Masala Dosai and a Samosa Chaat. Dosai was crispy with that classic South‑Indian tang, and the chaat was punchy and fresh. Super friendly staff and chill Devon Ave vibe. Kitchen kept a steady pace. Great veggie spot that hits the mark—def coming back for the Idli and Daal Makhani next!

We had a great experience here. The food was fresh and tasty. The gobi Manchurian was my favorite, it was crispy and well coated, the sauce was flavorful yet subtle. The dosa and thali were authentic and fresh and full of flavor. The staff were so helpful and just so kind. Felt taken care of . Highly recommend and will be going again.

Total scam. We ordered dosa and Chole batura. All the food they served were stale and I got food poisoning from eating there. We informed them the food served were stale, even then they fully charged us. Scammers. This place should be inspected. Please dont ever eat here.

I have ordered idly from here and trust me the size of idly was too small for an expensive price, will never recommend anyone to eat the idly here and the coconut chutney had a bad smell. Too bad

Food was average and also the customer service was poor. I was expecting udupi special dosa to be bigger quantity with stuffed filling but it only had sauté veggies in it. Need to work on specials.
We tried the Madras Lunch, which included Idli, Vada, and Dosa. The Onion Rava Masala Dosa and Paper Masala Dosa were both tasty, and the portions were generous. However, the sambar and coconut chutney were just okay and didn't seem fresh. We finished our meal with the South Indian coffee which was absolutely delicious!
The service was attentive since we were the only customers. Unfortunately, the atmosphere and ambiance fell short. The glasses, water jar, floors, and bathrooms were dirty, which was off-putting.
While I understand the restaurant's age, the dining experience didn't impress me. Next time I crave dosa or South Indian food, I'll likely explore other options.
