Expensive, and the food definitely did not taste south Indian. Madras lunch was just 1 big onion uttappam (not what you would taste in Udupi, India) and 2 medu vadas (felt like one of the short cut recipes), no taste at all.

Pani puri filling was really dry and tasteless. The potatoes were not fresh. But the dosa was really good.

I recently visited Udipi Palace and had a pretty decent experience. The food was solid overall, and their lunch menu offered good value for the price. The flavors were not bad—nothing extraordinary, but definitely enjoyable enough.
It’s a good place to visit if you’re in the mood for a comforting South Indian meal. Overall, a decent spot for a reasonably priced and satisfying lunch.

The food is authentic South Indian. Service was great. We ordered the Rasa vada and the Rava onion masala dosa. The rasam was flavorful and plentiful. I got it to go in a Styrofoam container. It was lovely sipping it as we walked outside on a cold fall afternoon! The Rava dosa was crisp and the sambar was spiced perfectly. The filter coffee was delicious. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic South Indian vegetarian restaurant.

I was expecting to be disappointed because of the reviews, but the Mysore Royal Thali (ordered 1 for the two of us, as we suspected, it was a big meal for one of us to finish) was AMAZING and so tasty! I felt homesick and came here so I could have authentic South Indian food, and I got it. No complaints!! Will deffo come here again!

This is one of the worst restaurants that I have been to in chicago. I went twice to recheck if my judgement was correct. First time i ordered Dosa and other south indian dishes. Also chole bature... It was very bad and stomach got upset may be due to soda.
Second time, I ordered south indian meals. .It was the worst ever. This is a not a udupi resturant at all. Please do not mistake this to be a real udupi south indian resturant. Also hospitality is very very bad. Its absolutely no value ..

We have been coming here for 3 years and this place has never disappointed. The staff is very polite. Service is great and food is on point. Food is delicious. Floating idlis and dahi vada are my go to order, along with coffee
