This place is masquerading as a South Indian restaurant. If you are looking for an authentic South Indian cuisine this is not the place. We very disappointed with the taste and flavor as it makes a mockery of South Indian food. I am sure most South Indians already figured this out that this place is not authentic and have stopped going here. This place was empty on a very busy evening and that tells you everything you need to know. These guys have no idea how to make a proper South Indian meal or good food for that matter. Udipi is famous for its cuisine and they are tarnishing it's name.

Delicious vegetarian Indian food, casual nice atmosphere, lovely service. This is my go to Indian restaurant in Chicago. Perfect for a night out or ordering in. Gluten free options. Good sized portions, great flavors, crispy delicious dosas!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options. All vegetarian, lots of vegan options.

I don't hv option to give negative rank.Food was awful. Ordered vada sambar, assorted uduppi special, a naan and paneer malai kofta. Sambar was cold, vada was very hard even after soaked in Sambar. Assorted basket was frozen stuff heated in airfryer. Manager even agreed naan was store bought. Even malai kofta was substandard. If you can not heat your leftover food at home, u can go to this place. Horrible place. Will never go again. Saw someone was complaining. Must hv left immediately. Save your money.

I tried dosa ,poori and fried rice a month ago.its a takeout and i opened the parcel after reaching home ,taste of dosa ,poori is okay but they did give curd and mint chutney as sides.being a south indian and hearing the udipi name i leastly expect chutney with dosa and it did shock me to see that its been served with chat chutneys . I kindly requestto include chutney for breakfast items or atlease change the name from udipi .

Our family’s favorite South Indian spot. Been going for nearly 20 years. Delicious masala dosai and their coconut chutney tastes like homemade.

Given a chance I would give a negative rating. We ordered Soya Biryani and bisbelebath. Soya biryani was stale, Bisbelebath was almost gone. Well, I was little hesitant to confront as there were two elder gentlemen who were sitting and another elderly gentleman served us food. So, my thought process was like, they must be having certain value system and I can trust them with providing good food. But, I was proved wrong. Having heard of the hype of Devon street for ages, visiting this restaurant was certainly an utter disappointment. Plus to settle down the things I was offered a voucher for next time which I rejected blatantly as the restuarent is not worth the second chance, especially after breaking the trust.

Ordered carryout. Specified to the person on the phone, "MILD"They replied ok no problem, the food is not spicy. It was very hot, he was only interested in completing a sale. All the food went to waste, we have had Indian food before, but previous restaurants were more forthcoming and honest. If you can't tolerate spicy, don't expect honest opinion or information here. Food not that good either, dosa not tasty.

Staff is so disrespectful they are literally abusing the customer for looking at the menu near the cash counter.
