I visited the restaurant as it was attached to my hotel, Hard Rock Cafe. I ordered the Grilled Cheese and Spicy Tots. The bread was crunchy and cooked well. I thoroughly enjoyed the food. However, it took me forever to get the bartender's attention. This applied again later that night when I returned to get drinks. If you aren't patient, this can become bothersome. Thus, I give service 2 stars and the restaurant overall 4 stars.
The food was absolutely delicious! I had a filet that rivaled very famous steakhouses. Creative treatment of side dishes was so much fun. And the value was great. Just such a pleasant surprise find!!! I would definitely come back to this restaurant when I am in Chicago.
Went for breakfast. Maybe 12 diners in the entire place so it wasn't busy. Staff was nice but service was slow and waiter didn't really keep us informed if the kitchen was backed up or not. Oatmeal I ordered to come out first took 20-25 minutes with the rest of our food taking another 5-10 after that. Portions were great for the price and hope the service was just an off day in the kitchen but as I experienced it probably wouldn't recommend to friends with all the other choices in town
There's nothing worse than bad service and bad food. Oh, and waiting 30 minutes for a glass of water you have to ask for. Sent my first cocktail back only for its replacement to taste worse. Gave up. Quinoa salad tasted like it was prepared 10 hours prior. I had two bites. Gave up again. Didn't send it back, just left it... with the second cocktail. Barely touched. Gave up for good. Will never return.
I wanted something light and healthy so chose the quinoa salad, which was mixed with spinach leaves, sun-dried tomatoes and other vegetables. It was good. My friend ordered the burger, but wanted a single patty. It was huge...can't imagine how one could eat a double burger of that size. He said it was good.
We met at Chuck's for lunch since it was close to our offices. I was actually surprised by the food. Two of us had the quinoa salad with chicken and it was a filling/flavorful healthy option.
I came at 5:30 p.m. before a show at Chicago Theater taking place at 7:30 p.m. Mash potatoes were delivered without a serving spoon and the waiter was no where to be found. I let him know one person was coming a bit later and that we would all have to leave early for a show. it was empty in the dining area, and the server should have been on top of things, unless he was waiting on folks closer to the bar area. It felt like I was constantly looking for him for the serving spoon, or anything else we needed etc. The bowl of mashed potatoes with horse radish was extremely soupy and unappealing. I was really unhappy with the slowness of the services at that period of time. I was just there before show on Saturday, 5/6, and that waitress was in fact very quick and often interrupted us to check in. The mash potatoes at that time did not look like a runny bowl of mush. They need to work on consistency of service and food. Also, as a person who wears two hearing aids, I have to take them out because the music seems a bit loud. I know you want a "buzz" but people should be able to talk to each other.
Beautifully executed filet mignon and grilled zucchini. I should have stopped there. Dessert platter was a complete disappointment: stale and unimaginative. The mock " hostess cupcake" was tiny with no creamy center and the cookies were if the standard supermarket variety. Only the cotton candy delivered the flavor and freshness The steak was a very solid five but the dessert ranked a mediocre 2- not st all worth $14. Service was pleasant but underwhelming. I saw dozens of impressive hamburgers passing by- definitely my next meal.
I visited Chuck's about 2 years ago and had the Cesar salad w/shrimp which was great. During my most recent visit for lunch, I had the lamb burger w/side salad. The salad was nice, but the lamb burger was dry (cooked at medium well), not seasoned and had an "off" taste with a gritty texture. I thought lamb was more of a fatty meat so I was surprised. Also, the menu description says the burger comes with pickled onions which I imagined to be red or white that would be visible on the sandwich. That was not the case, there were no onions at all on the sandwich. When I asked the waiter, he said they were in the tzatziki sauce, but I could not taste them at all. Overall, I was disappointed that I spent $20 for a mediocre meal. I tend to stay away from restaurants that can be hit or miss, I will think twice about visiting again.
Great place for a fun evening out. Not a great place to talk or have aa quiet dinner. Bar was very busy and energetic. Lots of TVs. Funky fun decor. We only ordered the pretzel appetizer and they were just heated up from frozen with a flavorless dip. The beer was cold. The service staff was a bit aloof and unfriendly, but maybe that is the vibe they are going for here. We actually left after the appetizers to go to dinner somewhere else a bit friendlier. I would still recommend this place for drinks after work or as a first stop place for drinks. Food might need a bit of work.

The food was OK, but stick to a hamburger and beer. The waitress was terrible- slow and inattentive. I had to send back my cocktail - and I never do that- but it was bad. The price is more than it should be because of the location. There are better places along Michigan Ave.
We actually didn't stay for the meal. A restaurant I had been to many times had been turned into a night club for St. Patrick's Day weekend. The noise was unbearable so we left.
The service was terrible the server got our order wrong and also we addressed it and it wasn't corrected. The food wasn't all that great either I got the chicken roasted. Will never come here again ever.
The food was just bland and there was really nothing appealing about the menu-- especially for a vegetarian. There was only one option to eat for a vegetarian, which was a Caesar salad. However, the salad was prepared as if it had been prepared from Denny's or IHOP or something of that nature--- all there was in the ingredients were lettuce, a few croutons, and a tiny flake of cheese to break. There could have been so many more additions to the salad-- such as tomatoes mushrooms some kind of protein, etc.. but I literally paid for leaves and dressing, which would have cost me about a dollar having done it myself.
We had a fantastic meal. It was very, very loud when we arrived. I asked the hostess if it was always that loud and if anything could be done (I'm not a crazy person, it was crazy, crazy loud) and literally one minute later the speakers above the tables in the rear dining room were off and the vibe changed into a fantastic comfortable place to be. The music was definitely still very loud in the open front bar and you could totally hear it at a normal level in the dining room and Hard Rock lobby, but you could speak in a normal tone of voice and hear the waiter etc. Food is great. Wines by the glass are abundant which is always good. Fantastic fries. Super diverse flavor / spice palette.
