WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN, SPENT 32 DOLLARS FOR A BUNCH OF RICE, CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED, FOOD WAS NOT TENDER, I TRAVEL ON THE BUS.

Love this spot….. oxtails are my favorite……the whole menu is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 definitely never had issues at UNCLE JOES!

Should be ashamed selling that nasty Jamaican food! FOOD IS TRASH! Rice was mushy never had rice & peas mushy fish was descent cabbage no flavor and soggy customer service horrible 3/10 the cashier seen me at the counter and didn’t even acknowledge me I had to tell

I order 1/2 chicken . It was dry dry dry. All pieces! Lack seasoning! The service and atmosphere was good but the food was NOT!

Nope. Just don’t. This is the WORST “Jamaican” food I have ever had.

Run away!

The oxtails are only offed in dinners and they are nearly $40 with 2 sides. The oxtails were flavorless except for salt and the fat was NOT trimmed off.

I got mac and (something like cheese) as one side. I’m warning you not to do it. I also got rasta pasta which tasted sweet for some reason. Why would rasta pasta be sweet? HELP!

Please save your money and go elsewhere.

The jerk wings were confusing bc it good one moment and the next I get a taste of a ingredient that doesn't pair well with the other. I never had Rasta pasta but there was big chucks of bell peppers and onion. Also it didn't have any sauce. It was ok.

Came in here for the first time and the food is okay but the customer service was wack.

I waited for 30 minutes inside the establishment for two orders of what I assumed would be a fresh 6 pc wings with an order of Mac n cheese. When I got my food the wings were so dry and tough it was like biting into a genuine leather belt. I could barely chew the chicken because it was so dry. I ended up having to throw the food away, and I was so upset because lord knows I loves me some jerk chicken. Uncle Joes in Hyde Park is overpriced and the quality has completely gone out the window. I wouldn’t eat here again if the food was free! This places used to be my favorite but now I’d much rather go to Jerk Yard on 53rd.

I don’t understand how this place got such a high rating because the food was not good, the oxtails was okay. The Mac and cheese was not tasty at all. The rice and peas come with everything and it’s not even good. It’s bland. The yams was okay. This food costs too much for it to taste so bad

Beyond disappointed. I used to come here for years… Im visiting and came again and the quality of the food has diminished greatly. I paid $36 for a combo that included to dry oxtails without the fat trimmed and a leg and a thigh. 1/2 a plantain. Rice is flavorless. Cabbage mushy and bland. $36 is just disrespectful to charge for this $6 plate at best. Sad to say im done supporting this place after almost 20 years.

This is an absolute must try place.
Jerk Chicken /Salmon/ Shrimp Dinners
Mac & Cheese is also a definite must try.
I definitely enjoyed the meals. They are a go to for me. If you like not so hot jerk

8/8/25 Came in to try the food, didn’t get a chance because the unwelcoming cashier told us they were about to close. They had about 35 mins before closing.
What a turn off! Clearly, they didn’t wanna make any more money for the day. As we proceeded to leave she gives us a menu as though we’re returning. No thanks!
