Them wings from last night (2/28/25) was the size of my newborn nephew hand. The service is always great here, and the food is always fresh. However, the size and the quality of the wings should be consistent. Other than that the staff is pretty friendly and they maintain a clean restaurant and workspace

The original on Madison is the best of course but this one is really good! They will charge you for anything extra at a high cost lol but overall service is good and the food is good! You can’t order ahead via phone, you have to order pick up through their app or check another app for delivery

This is the third time that I have ordered from you all and I consider myself on a yours regular. Your fish was not cooked. It was right and the chicken was over cooked last time. I ordered the fish from you all it was nice hot and melting your mouth this time. It made me sick on my stomach and the chicken was overcooked. The fries was decent, whoever you had just cooked on Saturday February, the 22nd should know how to prepare food much better than this.

I'm From New Orleans & When I Tell You, If This Chicken Went There, It'll Be A Line Stretched Around The Building. I've Been All Over, But Baby They Need One In Philadelphia, Bay Area California, They Need One Touching Every Corner of The Map!!!. I Was Visiting My OG & He Said Man You Gotta Try This Chicken Before You Hit The Road... I'm Not Even A Dark Meat Person Lol, But I Sucked The Bristle of The Chicken Lmao!!. That Sauce Is Life!!!. They Had It on The Chicken & Fries!. If I Gotta Catch A Flight, I'm Going Back For That Chicken & Drive Away With A Bag To Snack on Kmsl!!. Chicago, Y'all Got Something Right Here & I Loved It!!!. The chicken was over priced. Over cooked and dry. If it wasn't for the mild sauce on the chicken, it probably would have been dumped. I ate 2 peices, the rest will sit till someone else want it.

Fried Okra was horrible, nothings inside the batter. The chicken wings were pretty good. I traveled some miles to check this place out because it was featured on a television show. I won’t be going back.
I arrived around noon and place was empty.

We juss flew from Texas for this and drove 2HRS to get our food and there’s no mild sauce on ANY of our orders. The mild sauce is waht makes uncle Remus. This is terrible! So very upset and inconvenienced !!

I so hate to share this review. So I live in Aurora and after church service I would periodically stop here but the last couple of times I've been disappointed. The food does not taste the same and I understand they fry the chicken - fish and everything else in fish grease. This time the last of fish on my chicken was strong where felt really sick. 🤢. The prices have gone up sooo much to the point I realize now paying these prices and trying to contribute to black business is not worth getting sick. Hope they do better with the prepping and cooking of food.

Uncle Remus is the MOST consistent out of
ALL of these places and got better everything: sauce, battered (not floured) Chicken, and Hawaiian Rolls. Enjoy that semi-fried $1 loaf white bread and Lemon Flavored Salted Pepper Harold's and Sharks. The Southside living proximity bias is showing! And half the Southside ain't never had Remus cause they stay too damn far to get it 😂

The worst fried chicken of my life! It was fried so hard I needed alligators teeth. It had more batter than chicken. Previous owner has retired I should have left when I was told that. These people are clueless about a damn chicken gizzard! I should have returned that tough chicken instead of throwing it away!
