When you come to eat here, don’t park in the CVS parking lot opposite! Believe me, you will get a $170 ticket if you stop for even 1 minute. This place has been taken over by the shameful Innovative Parking Solutions towing company. They have three employees secretly ambushing several exits. Everyone's every move is photographed and closely monitored. As long as you have ever left that parking lot, even if it is only for 50 seconds. If you go shopping at CVS first and then walk your dog around the parking lot, you will get fined. They will disguise themselves as police officers. They are very disgusting. Don't park in any parking lot taken over by Innovative Parking Solutions in Chicago. Trust me!

Very genuine northern Chinese food . A surprise to find it in Chicago . Taste exactly the same as in northeast China restaurants.

The food at Uncle Zhangs is north Chinese style of cooking. They have a wide variety. Try the pancakes, they are flatbreads stuffed with meats and vegetables. Very delicious. It will take many visits to sample the extensive menu. It's BYOB, so bring some beer or

An amazing Chinese restaurant in Chicago!!! We ordered a soft-fried pork intestines, stir-fried sauerkraut with vermicelli & pork, and a beef tender with spicy sauce. All of them were sooo delicious! My friend and I were so impressed by the flavors!!! We both felt jealous of the people living here lol, if we were in Chicago, we would love to try each option of the menu!

Ever since the fire this place went downhill but the fire was probs traumatic so I'll give them a break and they don't have peapods like they don't even know what a peapod is. They have 4567 things in the menu and u are like beef and peapods and they are like what's that.

The Northern Style Clear Noodle was by far my favorite style clear noodle ever. It was a gracious heaping of cucumber, noodles made from beans (not flour), and was a thoroughly dressed dish. The XiaoLongBao had a bit thicker dough than usual, but the inside was full of broth and delicious meat. The Scallion Pancake sandwiching beef was delicious. It was crispy, had a great mouthfeel, chives were fresh, and the beef was tender. The Sauteed Lamb with Cumin Flavor with Bone was bursting with flavor and was pull-apart-at-the-bone.The tofu dish had the tofu knots so tender and the sauce was light but flavorful. The Pickled Cabbage & Pork Noodle Soup wasn’t to my preference, but it was wonderfully made. The pork fell apart after prodding, the noodles were the right texture, and the quantity was plentiful. Would definitely recommend.

This is a lovely find. Excellent N. Chinese cookery. Many tasty vegetable dishes. Reminds me of my favorite restaurant in Taipei.

Shared a holiday dinner with neighbors at Uncle Zhangs. All 12 dishes were authentic and delicious. Every dish had a unique flavoring and was tastily prepared. Flower soup, spring pancakes, cold noodle salad, crispy pork, sour cabbage, eggplant, and corn. For dessert, we enjoyed crispy milk cakes and sesame red bean paste balls. Go with friends and family so you can order a variety of dishes.

I had 2 different people mention in passing that this is the place they go out of their way to visit when near Bridgeport so I had to check it out. Rather spacious. 5 large group tables w lazy susans that can seat 6-8 people ea (1 in a semi private room) plus 5 booths & 4 tables that seat 4 ea. Good for groups. More spacious than I anticipated from outside. Much nicer than I expected, for some reason. When I asked what the most popular item was, I was told the TRADITIONAL sweet & sour SLICED pork and the dumplings. The difference between the "traditional" and "new" style is the traditional is made with vinegar and the new style made with ketchup. This was really good, a refreshing change to a typical sweet and sour or orange/general tso flavor. So much more herbaceous and fresh tasting, not too sweet, not too much fried batter. Just really delicious. And it was even good the next day too. Had me saying Mmm with every bite!I had the pork and cabbage dumplings which were pretty good. Comparable to dumplings elsewhere but still good.I'd definitely go back. Glad it's on my way to places I go regularly!

First time passing by, I ordered a very simple lunch box with broccoli and shrimp which is perfect for one person. It even come with a little soup in the set. Very tasty and fresh, and more importantly it tasted like clean home cooking.. Happy to find the place, will come back to try other things.
