The food was amazing. The owner spent time talking with us. We were sad to hear this location is closing. We will have go to the Clark St. Location in the future. Uncommon Ground is a Chicago staple!

We used to LOVE Uncommon Ground. The food, service, ambience and value was always 100% on point. Last night I returned to Chicago from a trip and had been thinking about the Vegan Superfood Caesar Salad [kale, broccoli, brussel sprouts, romaine etc] at the airport. What I got was ...a romaine caesar salad with very little of anything else. The replacement dish I ordered was also a disappointment. My friend ordered chili which wasn't what as used to be [watery/soupy rather than hearty and delicious]. However, the chocolate cake my son ordered was AMAZING. And the wine was of course just right. We are wondering if there is new management, new chefs, or what happened!

This is such an enjoyable place to have brunch in a garden and listen to Frank Sinatra. They make a really great lemon pepper aioli here. If you're looking for farm fresh to table, then this place is it.

First of all, we were there on a beautiful day so sitting outside with all the gorgeous plants was a treat. The meal was great! We did brunch and I loved that they used their freshly grown veggies in the meal. Our server was was so sweet and helpful. This place will definitely become one of go to favorites.

Food was delicious as always! We were just a bit frustrated with how slow the service was. Full disclosure, we have never had this problem before at this restaurant, usually the servers are very attentive. Just an off-day I guess.

Such a lovely garden space and delicious “farm fresh” brunch food, super friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. 14 year old “too cool for school” kiddo thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and ate her pancakes like they were her last meal on earth. Thank you!!!

When we arrived, we asked to be seated away from people and they accommodated us. However, a half hour later they put four tables of people literally on top of us. So loud we had to leave.

Normally I really like uncommon ground however this time I was very disappointed. We were given a wobbly table by itself outside and it took 15 minutes for our server to arrive and even after that the service was terrible. Also, the food which is normally very good at uncommon ground, this time appeared very rushed and very little care was taken with it. If I go back, I hope the restaurant reverts to the way it used to be.

We were disappointed last evening. We are regulars and have been coming to Uncommon Ground for at least 10 years. We have started to get a bit bored with the menu, which rarely changes, but we still come because the food and service has been good in the past. Last night the service was only fair to poor. It took a long time for a server to even take our drink order. Other tables that arrived after us were being served in what seemed like a reasonable period of time. Our server never even stopped to tell us that they would be a few minutes getting to us. Three members of our party had to choose alternative entrees--on a menu that is slim in choice to begin with--because the restaurant was out of the items they wanted. The rest of the food was just OK. In particular the chopped salad was really just lettuce with a very few pieces of the other ingredients in it, a very poor value, and lackluster in flavor. We left wondering if the Edgewater location is just keeping up the bare minimum and thinking of closing. We won't come back for a while and are looking for a new regular neighborhood place to go. The beer was excellent, however.

What a great place and can't wait to get back for some live music and/or karaoke! Food was excellent and value was great - should have split the vegan chilaquiles! Oh and Maddie is an all-star!!

I did not appreciate - that when I arrived I was greeted with "you know you only have 1.5 hours to have your meal - we need to turn your table after that. Didn't make me feel welcome - and actually started the evening off with me annoyed. This requirement is stated on the website- it doesn't need to be the greeting on arrival. Destroyed the mood - when I planned to support my guests with drinks, appetizers, dinner, and dessert. As a result, we passed on having desert so as not to be kicked out. Not an appropriate welcome. The website and a sign on the menu would be enough enticement.

I ordered a chicken sandwich. The flavor was just ok. But my issue was with the size of the chicken breast, it was the smallest piece of chicken I've ever had in a chicken sandwich. It's actually completely unacceptable. I went home and made myself another sandwich because I was still hungry.

My son and wife came here for dinner. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We came at 4pm on a Saturday. The place was empty except a few tables outside. The meatloaf was very good as was the salmon. The service was slow. They only sell craft beer. I couldn’t finish mine. I did not like it. Little pricey. I’d come again.

We had a great time at UG! I requested a bottle of champagne as we were celebrating my friends engagement and UG delivered. We sat outside surrounded by string lights and a nice white table that was different from the others. The champagne was so good and so was the food and service!

Such a fantastic magical place folks!!!Actually just dined outside their courtyard with my daughter while passing time waiting for my wife nearby, what a super sweet and wonderful time!!!Our waiter Michael was so enjoyable and nice, the best!! Followed by Victor at the ready and with pre- seating ; while touching base inside with Ms. Mattie who helped us wipe off the rained on seats outside by wiping and settling us in. Can’t speak highly enough about this beautiful conservation!!! Lots of fond memories from 10+yrs while once performing inside honorably etc to enjoying a handful of times in delights with birthday events or spontaneous go to with the wife! We just moved officially into the neighborhood a few seasons ago and can’t wait to be the regulars as such as the summer presides! You will not be disappointed to dine in! I had the homemade stout As You Wish which was awesome!!! Hit the spot!!! Did not want go go home really!!! Thank you thank you!!! Will return with all the family next time that’s for sure!!! Enjoy ladies and gentlemen!!!
