I have been eating there food for over 25 yrs. When I worked in the area and lived in the north suburbs. I've moved much further, and still drive to uptown for there rib tips, rice, potato, and chicken there Pizza is also good. And its always quick service, and freshly cooked food. Thanks Uptown restaurant 😋

Hope the owners see this. Ordered fried chicken. Waited 25 minutes and they said “just a little longer”. 10 minutes later they hand me my order Ok. I get home and it’s burned. To their credit I went back and the manager immediately refunded my money. I've had a slice there before which was very good. I think the problem with the chicken will not happen again the manager was not pleased.

On 08/29/2025, I commute from my Neighborhood Morse redline stop, bypassing the Terrible Morse Gyros food, For what I thought to be a Better Fast-food Experience, being a Patron of Uptown for over 10Years (I'm Highly Disgusted with the OLD TIMER Cooks & counter staff!) (You'd be better off NOT taking your Taste for Fried wings & Gyro into this place!!!) I Ordered a Gyros sandwich with EVERYTHING got NO cheese, $9.99, with an extra cucumber sauce$1.29 & 1 extra pita $ $1.39, 5 fried chicken wing dinner $11.99 sauce on top an additional .99 and 1 side sauce $.99, tax 1 $26.64, tax 1 amount $2.86 for a (Total of $29.50) Without any beverage. Checking my food before leaving Uptowns Establishment, I've got what looks like a Mini Gyros Approximately $3.50 worth of Gyro meat and Confront Counter about it, I asked if this ws a $10.00 Gyros? Told them that they just LOST a customer and that I won't be coming back! Stick up without a Gun! ROBBED of both my food & my money, NO one offered to make it right! (But Cashier Sarcastically says to me: have a nice day!) my Response: I Will! I get home and the Gyros meat is DRY & Over Cooked, The DRY Fried Chicken wings and Sauce were OVERLY - Salty, These people have Managed to Ruin their own Reputation for being a Decent place to eat, and Obviously have become Very Complacent being the one Restaurant with the Menu of its kind being in Chicago's Uptown Neighborhood! This was THEE NASTIEST food I've Eaten, in a Long time and a TOTAL waste to my taste buds, money and Commute! I think it's about time you old dudes hang up your Aprons and Attitudes! One would be better off Passing this place up! For a homemade Bologna & Cheese Sandwich. The Salt content alone will give u a High blood pressure headache. You've gone up on PRICES serving smaller Portions and HIGHLY DISGUSTING FOOD! I'm rating you Zero Stars! Have an Equally Nice Day!

Always super nice staff. Good is great. Can be slow sometimes, but they get busy so there’s only so much they can do about it!

The staff referred to me as “Chinito” amongst each other. I heard some racist banter in Spanish about African Americans amongst the cooks, smirking and mocking customers whenever a person of African descent left. If you’re gonna get food here, just get in and get out.

The big guy who takes the orders got mad cause i asked for shredded cheese on my chicken salad. His response was we only put parmesean or mozzarella then proceeded to tell me read the menu all i because i asked cheese....will never walk through them doors again
