We came here for Restaurant Week and ordered the menu with wine pairings! Every pairing was delicious and chosen well! And the waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the notes in each wine. I'm a huge fan of beef wellington so I was a little disappointed at the portion size of the short rib wellington but it was tasty. Overall, we had an enjoyable meal!

We've been with them from the very early days of this homegrown, woman-owned Andersonville diamond. While we've watched them grow and become an increasingly sought-after reservation, we've relished the culinary and wine adventure they've provided for several years. I don't really think there's another experience quite like this one in the city -- or at least we haven't found it yet. The monthly wine dinner may very well be the best date night in town... The food is always inventive and surprising; and the wine pairings are a great conversation starter (at the least). You're never without when it comes to keeping the conversation interesting here. The ambiance is warm and romantic (romance hack: we go later so it's a little less busy and quieter), the staff is "off the chain" knowledgeable as well as incredibly welcoming, and you can't help but feel good when you're there because you're supporting a great team of people doing really impassioned things. Definitely our favorite place. Also, the wine classes make for a great weekend afternoon activity.

So the oysters were quite good and the cava was tasty and a good deal. Wine list is good, food is good. The carrots are a bit too smoky although my wife disagrees, the cauliflower sauce needs to be thicker. The potatoes were alright but really light on duck fat flavor. The tagliatelle was quite good could pass on the octopus. Kind of a mixed picture, reasonable but you won't leave wondering when you can get there again. Service was quite good

Food was great. Atmosphere was cute and not too crowded. We went for restaurant week, but only a couple of options were really worth the price and the rest didn't sound as good. We ended up getting the Wellington and the braised pork which were both tender and delicious.

Industrial design meets Victorian style? Nice venue They have Saturday happy hour, catch it if you can. 2$ oyster and shrimp and 5$ spwine Duck fat fingerling: loved it! Real crispy skin and soft smooth potato inside. Smart way to cook potato. 4.5 star Beef Wellington: tried the single. Didn't know what it means by single. Means it's a mini version of it. Beef is cooked separately and have a crispy puff on top. Thought just single layer of beef or something. Kinda disappointed. Bit on the salty side. Beef is tender but a little bit dry. 3.5 star Braised pork: favorite dish tonight. The pork is so tender! Just melt in your mouth. Love the addition of apple give it a bit fruity sweet and crispy texture. 5 star Nutella crème brûlée: very thin layer of Nutella. Was worried the Nutella may be too much but can barely taste it. Good traditional crème brûlée pretty much Pretty noisy venue though. Have to get close to talk. Maybe nice for a date night Staff are nice and attentive A bit on the pricey side

The best oysters I've ever tasted in Chicago! Fresh and delicious highly recommended The drinks and service are amazing too, I'm obsessed.. the third course is the best! I will definitely be back to try each of the things on the menu

It was a busy Friday night, but space was made for me and my friend at the bar! While they didn't have my exact order to drink the bartender Daniel gave me a great replacement! Not to mention the oysters were top notch and anyone who knows me is aware of how important that is! The ambiance is convivial and I'm excited to come back and grab a table

This is one of my favorite spots in Andersonville. The food is innovative and the service is phenomenal. I have been coming here for about two years now and my only regret is I didn't stop by sooner!

The charm and ambiance is outstanding. We felt so welcome as soon as we walked in. The food is amazing and always evolving so you are never bored. Carefully curated wine list with really well thought-out food pairings made our evening so special.

Had a good meal for restaurant week at Uvae! We did the wine pairing with the restaurant week menu and definitely had fun with it! I will say to start off the salads were a bit underwhelming. My squash panzanella had two very hard pieces of bread in it and maybe five tiny pieces of squash. It was overruled by the amount of arugula in it which just felt like a cheap way to do a salad. For entrees we had the pork and the pappardelle and I would literally come back for the pappardelle alone. It was creamy, flavorful, and the noodles were cooked absolutely perfectly. We had the bread pudding for dessert which was fine, just not nearly as decadent as we would have liked. The servers did an excellent job explaining the wine pairings and gave a fair portion of wine with each course. We left feeling that we got a good experience but also weren't so overloaded with wine that we couldn't remember our meals. I will say if you are looking for somewhere intimate and romantic, the ambiance is great but the tables are extremely close together and the noise level is very high so I wouldn't recommend it for a quiet date night. We went on a weekend so that could contribute but overall would recommend Uvae for a more social night out with wine and apps!!!

We came hoping to get in for a quick dinner (even though it's restaurant week) & by the luck of the draw were able to be seated when another couple had cancelled. The owner (Lindsey) greeted & sat us into a cozy little corner near the fireplace at this gem of the local Andersonville restaurant scene. What ambiance inside. The staff were incredibly friendly, all servers working to keep our glasses full as we waited for each course to be delivered, our server was so kind he really went out of his way to make it a nice evening for us even though they were so very busy. The dinner portions were more of a small plate style (which we understood by perusing the menu). Had the mussels as appetizers. The sauce was outstanding, I ended up asking for more bread to keep dipping. Lindsey came to the table to help us with our wine selections. We found out from our server that she is an experienced, well known sommelier which we found impressive. Each course was delicious. *highly recommend the Pappardelle, (noodles cooked perfectly) & short rib choice was nice & juicy. We were told by the regulars seated next to us; that the Fromagerie they opened next door is amazing & that they not only do tastings/pairings, but also sell goods made by the neighboring vendors in solidarity of the community. They also told us Uvae has an awesome summer patio & hosts various community fundraisers. We will definitely be back (not only as our new neighborhood hangout spot) but also so I can experience the Fromagerie as I LOVE cheese! Ps. The bread pudding dessert was a lovely balance to the end of our meal.

Friend who lives in the city recommended this place to us. We were in the north side so we came for dinner. Wine list and wine were amazing, food was great, and the whole staff were phenomenal and a lot of fun. This is definitely going to be our spot any time we're up this way. Highly recommend.

Everything about this place is just... okay... could be better. Andersonville isn't known for having the best dining/wine establishments so, this place fits right in... The ambience is meh/okay. Tried the tasting menu with wine pairings. Not great. I may be spoiled when it comes to excellently prepared food, and great servers. The tasting menu and wine pairing were very very mediocre. The seating was uncomfortable. The service was also very mediocre, bordering on poor. Would I go back? Probably not, unless there were no other options available. Which is often the case on a Friday night during restaurant week. If there is availability at a time like this... the reason is that it's just not all that good. That was my suspicion, and my experience confirmed it.

I'm sorry but this place should not be on the restaurant week program. This is more of a wine bar than a kitchen. If we had not ordered the wine pairing menu, the rating would have been much lower. The wine pours are more than I expected, but they had to be to make up for the food. The first course was below average even with the wine pairing. The second course was in my opinion very small portions but the food was good. By the time I started to enjoy them it was gone. What saved this place was the deserts. Honestly, the none wine pairing option should not be even offered.
