The menu is clearly labeled making it easy to identify the non vegan options they have. Wide selection of vegan options Updated from previous review on 2025-06-07
This place is located in a little shopping plaza, which was fun! It was cool watching all the people walk by while we enjoyed our dinner. The food was good also; the spinach dumpling was our favorite and we were impressed with the portion size of the entrees. I’d love to try more things on the menu! Really good food at a fair price. Cool little location too in the Chinatown Plaza. Tons of options. Food was fresh and tasty. Definitely would return.
The waiter told us that apart from 2 things, everything is vegan. I added extra Broccoli to my meal since it didn't have many veggies. Ordering is via tablet and convenient for adding things. The portion was quite big though.
I lived near Chinatown for my 11 years in Chicago and was always displeased at the fact that while restaurants had vegan options, there was no veg only place. That changed when Veggie House opened, and not only is everything vegetarian or vegan, but it's some of the best food in Chinatown. They pretty much have all the classics on the menu plus some unique twists that are incredible. Highly recommend, I go back every time I visit the city. Everything on the menu is vegan minus a few items that are clearly labeled if they contain egg or dairy.
The food was delicious and service was prompt and friendly . Highly recommend this to vegans , the only thing that I feel could be improved is if they added some vegan desserts
The Pad Thai Noodles and Passion Fruit Jasmine Green Tea were good, but the Orange Chicken was my absolute favorite thing I had my whole trip! I want to go back. 😫 Updated from previous review on 2025-02-12
I’ve been here twice and the food has always been pretty solid; not mind-blowing but will satisfy your meatless cravings for a typically meat-centric cuisine. After all, I believe this is the only fully vegan/vegetarian restaurant in Chinatown, so major props to that.
It’s also much less busy than all the other restaurants in the new Chinatown square—both times I’ve been here, during an otherwise bustling weekend afternoon, it’s been pretty empty with no wait.
I’ve tried the following dishes, all of which were solid (**= especially recommend):
- Fried turmeric wood ear mushrooms**: Amazing crispy texture and flavor
- House tofu**
- Mongolian soy beef: The soy beef was well sautéed and had a nice meat-like texture, though a little lacking in flavor
- Veggie dumplings
- Spicy dumplings: This dish was the weakest compared to the rest, and also wasn’t spicy
The prices are pretty reasonable and comparable to other Asian vegan restaurants I’ve come across. The service is friendly, and the restaurant is quiet, clean and neatly decorated.
Absolutely delicious and perfect for vegetarians/vegans!! The kung pao chicken was 10/10

Came here with family (two vegans and four omnivores) and we all loved it! So many vegan options, only a few that were vegetarian (the distinction was clearly marked). Everything we ordered was out of this world. Mongolian soy beef did not miss and we all raved about the string beans. Sesame balls for dessert were the cherry on the cake. It’s BYOB which is fun too! Great food and vibes! This place is a hidden gem in the China Town plaza. A Shangri La for the vegetarians! Also ask for their hot tea with your meal
