One of the great pubs of the city of Chicago.

I can't recommend this pub enough for any locals or tourists. It has a cozy vibe with a hint of dive and a great outdoor space that compliments what makes Chicago great. Not to mention the patio is dog friendly z you are sure to have a blast and make new friends!

As a tourist the night shift was good. Went during the day got a huge hold in my card for 1 drink. Ordered a second, stepped outside to smoke someone picked up my drink and snaked right after I went outside and the bartender acted like this was a normal thing. Embarrassing! (Edit) The bartender did make an effort to go out of her way to make sure I felt accommodated after the incident and took what I had to say to heart. Preemptive review, exactly that. Not too shabby. Check it out.

This is THE local pub you’re looking for - friendly, fun, neighborhood feel from the second you walk in the door. Rachel will remember your name and drink if you’ve been there ONCE. A true professional. Eric and David the owners, are wonderful, and always quick with a hilarious convo - great weekend energy and a total vibe. Love grabbing a cocktail outside at the picnic table any day that ends in Y.

My experience at this bar was in the late 70s and early 80s. My husband, Michael and his partner Micky owned this place when my husband was in medical school. There was one of many brawls here that were just hilarious. One in February when the entire bar cleared into the street and “dibs” chairs were thrown everywhere. The police showed up and everyone was back in the bar like nothing happened. It had a liquor rack over the square bar. There was a neighborhood Elvis impersonator dancing on the bar. All at once the liquor rack crashed onto the bar. My husband proposed to me there. Always something with a cast of characters. I’m sure it’s very different now. Great memories ??
