When he launched his fast-food enterprise in 1969, the late Dave Thomas hoped to compete with McDonald's and Burger King by offering customers a variety of freshly made salads along with the obligatory burgers, fries and shakes. He soon discovered that customers didn't want salads as much as they wanted good burgers. Today, Thomas' Wendy's still ranks third in the fast-food industry behind McDonald's and Burger King but he has a sold niche in the market 7,106 locations, including 27 in the Chicago area. The closest to my home is firmly entrenched at 2312 North Ashland Avenue, at Medill, at the busy intersection of Ashland, Clybourn and Fullerton, west of DePaul University, in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a convenient drive-through, its most popular items are chicken nuggets, Dave's classic double burger, Wendy's signature Baconator and Frostys. Wendy's is big on bacon. The Baconator consists of a half-pound of fresh beef, American cheese, six pieces of Applewood smoked bacon, ketchup and mayo. My doctor says I shouldn't eat bacon, ham or grapefruit. So I prefer Dave's Double with a half-pound of fresh square-shaped beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mayo and onion on a toasted bun. Or a Double Stack with two fresh beef patties, American cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles and onion. With natural cut, skin on, sea salted fries, strawberry lemonade or Barq's root beer and a classic chocolate Frosty. For breakfast, a sausage, egg and Swiss cheese croissant always hits the spot.
I went there after a long day at 2 am on feb 22 and whoever was there working the window was so awesome. Honestly I haven’t had good customer service in fast food in so long it was awesome. She complimented my cat credit card and was so sweet. She deserves the biggest raise, I love her

Bad behavior with customer

Just left (Christmas Eve-2pm) one of the worst mean spirited, rude customer service. Female cashier ignored & didn’t speak to us after I spoke to her. When I tried to order she rudely pointed her finger, telling me to order over there(Kiosk). After trying to use the kiosk and experienced their tremendously horrible customer service, we decided to leave. I see why nobody was barely there, no drive-through action with their bad ratings.

Horrible place, The manager kashona is very foul-mouthed and rude to customers. She threw things at my window in the drive thru, when i asked for her general manager's number so i could report her she walked away, I waited for 15 mins at the window before she yelled at cars behind me that its MY FAULT they cant get their foods. Horrible place and wont be back here. They just make anyone a manager nowadays.

I lost an hour of my life and money on gas traveling to this location by attempting to order through the app, twice.
Even with two order numbers, nothing was going through.
I get that the workers aren’t paid enough to live on but they didn’t seem to care either.
I’m never doing this again. It’s almost 2025, it’s utterly pathetic and unacceptable.

It’s employees like Cash who elevate a typical fast-food experience to something memorable.
