Review for Wilma's Famous BBQ & Tavern ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you're looking for great food and drinks, Wilma's Famous BBQ & Tavern should be at the top of your list. I visited during happy hour, and let's just say I walked in and stumbled out— in the best way possible! I ordered the Fred platter, which gave me a variety of options to sample, and everything was fantastic. While they don't offer traditional BBQ sides (just fries), the flavors were so on point that I left fully satisfied. Whether you're craving BBQ or just looking for a fun time with great drinks, Wilma's delivers. Highly recommend stopping by!

So the only reason I gave it a poor experience is because there was none! We actually didnt even get to experience the restaurant because they closed it early on the day that I made reservations & told me about them closing the day before! This was a birthday celebration with family so I couldn't reschedule. I dont understand why I would be able to make reservations on the website & open table if there was a previous event scheduled.

The food was very good but the service was horrible our waitress only checked on us once she never asked about drinks or if we needed anything until the end of the meal. For a place to charge gratuity as part of bill you would think the service would be infinitely better. Because of that I would tell people to reconsider this place. Also I want to add my husband asked to speak to manager and was blown off please don't waste your money

We visited the downtown location. Our server was very helpful and friendly. We ordered a slab of ribs, rib tips, and catfish. Our side were Mac & cheese, collard greens and corn bread. All of our entrees came with fries. Everything was delicious. The ribs and rib tips were tender and the bbq sauce was very good. The portions were so large that I had enough food for 2 more meals. I will definitely go back again!

This is my second at this establishment and the food is so good. I've tried the rib and turkey tips. The sauce is very good and the meat is very tender and seasoned. Just perfect! I tried their Mac and cheese and candied as sides and I enjoyed them as well. I went during the Chicago Bears game Day watch party and environment was very energetic. I really enjoy the validated parking because parking downtown can be very difficult and expensive. I am definitely returning.

The food was decent but not good enough whereas I'd pay for parking to go downtown again. The greens was mostly juice & stems (maybe they gave us the last of it), we had the BBQ Platter & the chicken was not done but they did replace it with fried wings. Surprisingly for a BBQ restaurant, the Fried chicken and fries were the best items. They add a service fee to each bill without an advance notice so by them including it in the bill, you assume it was gratuity. The waitress advised that it wasn't. A service fee for a $79 bill being $14 and still expected to pay gratuity is an absurd business practice on their part. So basically if we pay service fee & gratuity it's be the same cost we paid for the Platter which was $39. Needless to say, I won't go back

Great night out!!! The DJ was playing all the hits!!!! I ordered the large tip and link... Side of greens and the macaroni and cheese. The tips and link were really good... Greens were well seasoned. Mac and cheese was okay... Strawberry lemonade great.

This was one of the best barbecue meals I have had in a long time! Everything we ate was amazing! Loved the soul rolls and the ribs were delicious. The service was attentive and the food came out with in 15 minutes. The drinks were great as well. We will definitely be back.

Chicken and Waffles were a 10/10. My friends enjoyed the turkey tips, greens, mac and cheese and baked beans. I wish I could have gotten a chance to try the soul rolls but there was a mixup in the kitchen and I never received them. Our waitress had 3 tables in her section, 2 of them with bigger parties, so the service was pretty slow and ended with a mix up in our bills. I will be back for the soul rolls though! The atmosphere is such a vibe.

I ordered small rib tips with a side of catfish and greens. My husband ordered fried shrimp and Mac n cheese. We both had the fishbowl cocktails. My rib tips were tender and plentiful. The sauce tasted sweet and tangy and was full of flavor. The catfish fillet was a celebration of SeaSONIing!! Loved it!! Delicious and crispy. Unfortunately, the watered down greens were not a hit; even after an added hot sauce to wake up the flavor. My husband enjoyed his fried shrimp. Although the Mac n cheese looked amazing, it missed the mark on flavor. This definitely was not your grandmother's Mac n cheese. The fishbowl cocktails were stronger than we expected. That is not a complaint. The drinks got us where we needed to be! Although this may sound petty, the ice cubes in the cocktail added a “sink water” taste to the drink. Lastly, our server Ashley (that was not a pun) was very cordial in the beginning. However, when the main course was brought to our table, I received my meal, but my husband did not receive his. When I was nearly finished with my meal, Ashley informed my husband that she accidentally gave his fried shrimp dinner to customers sitting at an adjacent table. When his meal finally arrived, I was nearly finished with my food. Additionally, I asked for hot sauce and ketchup. Ashley L visited our table two times and forgot to bring the request condiments. She even forgot to bring a to go plate when my husband finished his meal. When we received the check, we were shocked to learn that 18% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. $16.74 paid for poor customer service. I've seen auto gratuity added to bills when there is a party of 5 or more, but never when there are just two customers. What incentive do employees have to provide good customer service if they will receive a tip no matter what?! She didn't even offer to provide a slight discount off of his meal for the delay. This establishment did not earn a return visit from us.

Terrible food, and Terrible service. only okay part was the drinks. When we received our food, it was cold. 10 minutes before we received our food we were informed there were no more sides. Won't be returning back.

First time dining at Wilma's. The food was great and so was the service. The only I didn't like was that I had my young daughter with me and the videos shown while dining were not kid appropriate. Other than that I would definitely go back.

It was our 1st time there we had a reservation for 6pm. We arrived early and were seated early because their was no line or wait time. Everything was clean, and the customer service was amazing. The food was fresh and nice and hot. We will go back again
