Had chicken chili. The flavor was fine, but the texture was watery and pretty unappetizing, and the serving size was quite small for the price. I was hoping for more.
This is our neighborhood spot that we've been enjoying and boasting about for 10+ years. Sadly, something has dramatically changed. The prices have gone up, the portions have gone down, the quality and care of the food is trash. Worst of all, the regular servers are all gone. They were friendly and attentive and remembered our names. They saw my daughter grow up. Now they have one server running around too busy to even say hi, leave us sitting for 15 minutes before taking our order and delivering cold bland food without any sort of acknowledgment of our wait and forgetting part of our order. And its expensive! Its like when cozy corner turned into an ihop. SO SAD. R.I.P. Windy City... we'll not be back.

Went here for breakfast every morning while in Chicago for a conference. Really liked the yogurt with fruit. Tried a lot of different breakfast foods, all were good.

This location is very cute and bright with a friendly environment, but the food was just ok. I had the second city and my eggs and bacon were just fine but kinda bland. The French toast was a bit of a let down as it had very little flavor.
This all wouldn't be an issue, but breakfast for my wife and I ended up being north of $50, which is far too much for this quality.

Right off of the “Chicago” blue line station stop. My husband and I split the biscuits & gravy / second city combo! Tons of food, friendly & fast service, great atmosphere! Will definitely be back if we find ourselves on this side of the city again.

Very cute cafe and waitress was kind. Belgian waffle was made perfectly but the syrup was bland. Reuben sandwich and fries were amazing!

Probably my go to place for breakfast if I know I want something good and affordable. Simple food with great presentation. Servers are very friendly, even when there's a lot of activity and you can tell they are stressing a bit.
Again, food is great. I usually get either the Second City combo or the Breakfast burrito. They also have some vegetarian sausage if you don't want regular meat. Cinnamon Roll French toast is also really good.
Decor of restaurant is neat with pictures of the area from decades long past. If you have friends visiting the city definitely bring them here.
Vegetarian options: Can ask for substitutions on some dishes. Vegan sausage available.

Love this place! Weekend brunch go to! Cold brew coffee and freshest cream. Everything is fresh and tasty. Would like to be in the patio in the summer and have the cocktail back!
