Extremely over priced typical junk bar food & drinks. 1/2 items(drinks or food) are not served if narsarcists(owners & staff) don't feel like working. Glad to hear city will shut them them down due to c19 ignorance. It fits since place was using dirty silverware & drink glasses with discusting lipstick on them. Never offered new to appease wrong doing. Are you kidding? Walked out after being ignored and bad attitudes. Hopefully these owners will never open another establishment. Scary to imagine after experiencing this place.

Good music, surprisingly good food and decent ambiance. Worth stopping in, staff is always friendly.

Businesss like Wise Owl are a slap in the face to physicians and nurses. Rush University, UI Health, Cook County Hospital, and the VA are literally across the street from this establishment and the epicenter of the coronavirus epidemic in Chicago where some of my family and friends are sacrificing and risking their lives. Yet this business decided it didn't want to follow some simple rules. These rules are the bare minimum and should have been more strict from a scientific point of view, but Wise Owl decided that making money and having little concern for the community was the best business practice. Selfish, reckless, and greedy. Hopefully shut down for good.

This place is a joke, run by people who have no respect for the health of their employees or the public.

Shut down for violating coronavirus safety measures. They found that it was:-over capacity-failed to keep people 6 feet apart-not seating patrons, many of whom were not wearing face coverings

This place was shut down this weekend for violating coronavirus safety measures over the weekend. (Reported by Block Club Chicago source: city officials/BACP)Violations:1. operating over capacity2. not enforcing social distancing or mask-wearing3. allowing customers to mingle out of their seats

This restaurant doesn't care about its customers or staff! They didn't enforce any social distancing on their customers, letting them mingle around between other customers after reopening and had way too many people coming in to be safe. Apparently they don't understand that there is still a pandemic going on! Free Covid with a burger!? No thanks!

first time visit service was terrible. none of the worker had on face mask. I had hair in my drink. when I ask the manager why no one had on a mask he sad its difficult to wear at times. Its Covid 19 and I did not feel comfortable with the service at all so we paid our bill and left.

We've had good experiences in the past, pre Covid, (really like their pizza but they are not serving pizza right now), but today was pretty disappointing. We came to sit outside right as they opened at 5PM. It was an awkward arrival experience, about 3-4 servers standing around at a table on their phones looking at us, finally someone did seat us. The current menu is very limited, and it was odd that the waitress only gave us the food menu that had a small section that said "Drink Menu" on it, with 3 specials listed. We then had to ask for beer & draft list. My husband got a bacon cheeseburger, I got fried shrimp. I wish I had taken a picture, the burger had 1/2 piece of seemingly microwaved bacon on it. For $14, Wise Owl, you should realize Au Cheval a mile away charges the same.... you'd at least expect a bar burger to be big, meaty, fresh on a solid bun. This one was incredibly mediocre and small (not a good sign when the server doesn't ask how you want it cooked.) My friend shrimp came smothered in the sauce that I asked for, which I didn't realize that's how it would come, since that description isn't on menu. However, food was "ok", but then 20 minutes in, we noticed how close we were to the DJ speakers, who got started for the evening, absolutely blasting music as loudly as they could. I can understand getting the music bumping at maybe 8 or 9PM, once the sun is setting at least, or when there's a crowd who have had a couple drinks and dancing might begin... but at 5:20pm?! We're in our late 20's, love concerts and music festivals etc, not anti- heavy music at all. But I am expecting a little one and who expects to have to yell their conversation while they're eating dinner on an outdoor patio at 5pm? My husband's second beer took from when our food was served (when requested) and received after our food was gone (this is still us being 1 out of 2 filled tables). The most laughable part was paying the bill- $65 for two miller lites, a Coke, burger and fried shrimp with fries. It's not like it was a terrible experience, but completely sub par and felt like a waste of money on a Friday night, especially in a West Loop location, where there is great food and service around every corner.
