This place was absolutely amazing. Very unassuming exterior but once you enter you’re greeted by fantastic aromas and spices. Every person who came after us commented similarly. The combination noodle with two styles of pork and veggie was superb. It happens to be the most popular dish and I can totally understand why. I am excited to come back next time to try the Xi’an style crepes. The table next to us ordered them — and it was massive! Make sure to order accordingly. You won’t go wrong or leave hungry!
Zhong dumplings were flavourful but we found the pulled pork burger and the noodles just average. Unique for Chicago but not if you've had great Xi'an food.
The food there is authentic and inexpensive; and as you can see from the picture, the portion size is fairly large. The food is delicious, and served within 5 minutes from ordering. There's plenty of street parking at nearby streets, even on a holiday weekend. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we'll definitely visit again!
Hello.May 18,2022 is my first experience with Xi'an. And the experience was amazing. I ordered for pick up closed to their closing time, but they still took my order anyway, which was hot and sour dumpling soup. Very very good, the dumplings are not doughy and the broth is delicious unlike other hot and sour soups that I had, it's not thick. This will be the only hot and sour that I will eat in the neighborhood. Thank you for taking my order. Grandma enjoyed the food too! ? PS I don't have pics..We already ate most of it when I started writing my review.
Crazy delicious, authentic tasting xi’an cuisine. Ordered takeout on a Friday night. The hot and sour dumpling soup was the star of the show - the flavor of the broth is spot on. Couldn’t imagine a more comforting dish on a chilly night. Also tried the noodles with beef brisket and was impressed, high quality meat is used here for sure. I’m 100% sold and will be back in the future!
Incredible food for an incredibly affordable price - I had the pulled pork noodle bowl and it was truly excellent. If I lived in Chicago I would order a different item on the menu every night! Will definitely be returning on my next trip.
Very tasty and great quality meat, big filling portions. Servers are friendly and it’s a nice location. We really enjoyed a full meal with the wonton soup, scallion pancakes and two noodle portions - all tasted great.
Authentic Xian Cuisine legit 10/10
This place is an absolute neighborhood GEM!!! The food is incredible. Their hot and our dumpling soup is so delicious and comforting absolutely love it. We also like the noodle dishes which have some really tasty meat. Get some Xi’an!
Love extra spicy cold noodle liang pi and extra spicy dumplings! Authentic flavor! Savory and taste

Stopped here on our way home to Cincinnati. Food was amazing we ordered 2 dumpling appetizers the brisket and noodle dish also the hot pot. Everything was great, beyond great my wife took my dish lol. Suggestion to the owners drop the whole proof of vaccination thing, we almost didn't get to eat there because of it and vaccines don't lessen your ability to spread. Just don't want you to lose customers because of it. Good luck to you, your food is amazing.
My spouse is from Xi’an, and since we don’t get to eat food from his hometown very often we knew we had to try it when we were in Chicago (we’re from the Minneapolis area). This restaurant is the real deal! ? ??Must haves include Xi'an Style Pulled Pork Burger (肉夹馍), Zhong's Dumplings, Cold Rice Noodle (comes with delicious vinegar, chili oil based sauce), Xian Style Crepes (Pulled Pork), Noodle With Pork Saozi (recombining the pulled pork with hand-pulled noodles and their vinegar/oil sauces).Everything was absolutely delicious! ?I really envy you Chicago people who have this in your backyard. I hope they open a shop in Minneapolis. I’d be their regular customer if they moved here. ?
We love this place! I have tried pretty much everything on the menu and it is all delicious! They don’t have a lot of items to choose from because it’s not like a typical traditional Chinese restaurant, the food is xi’an style. the owner is from Xi’an and I’ve been there many times. The taste is exactly like what I had in xi’an. We normally go there once a week.
The pulled pork sandwich and dumpling soup are incredible. Well flavored and spiced, perfect for cold chicago day
Live nearby but just trying this place for the first time (got takeout). It was very, very good. I got the crepes with pulled pork and the noodles with mixed pork and vegetables. The crepes were beyond delicious. The noodles were a tad spicy, so if you prefer mild be sure to ask. Still really enjoyed them. Prices were low, portions were large. Will definitely be back.
