I finally found a fav handroll spot that I’m going to keep coming back to! This place is very good. What we tried, ranked in order of what we loved: truffle hamachi, zuke salmon, negi toro, spicy tuna, and kani blue crab. They do a happy hour which is I believe from 4-7 on weekdays.

The place is on smaller side, vibes r very cozy and relaxed. Service was great. It’s on pricier side so might be good for special occasion/date vs big group outing. We are picky...
EDIT: I wanted to add onto my original review after coming back a second time for the omakase chef’s menu. I believe this experience at Yokocho was very unique and high-quality compared to other sushi spots in Chicago. I would highly recommend this for a date night or special occasion. Loved hearing the chef’s inspiration behind the menu and history of different preparation methods.

Walked in on a Thursday night with a small group & was seated immediately....
We really liked the intimate atmosphere, inspired by Japanese alleys. The food was good and the drinks, including sake and cocktails, well prepared. A pleasant place for a quiet evening.
