Great spot for breakfast or brunch in Chicago. It was busy when we arrived, but we were seated very quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. The service was fantastic and the food lived up to the hype. Portions are generous without being over-the-top, and everything came out hot and well prepared. A special shoutout to their Yolk-branded habanero sauce—it’s absolutely amazing and adds the perfect kick. Would definitely return on our next trip.
Whilst eating dinner one night our waiter recommended this as a good place for breakfast. It was a short walk from our hotel so we thought we should definitely check it out. We were seated quickly and on asking our server made some suggestions on what he thought was good. Neither of us was disappointed with our choices, chicken and waffles and the banana french toast, in fact days later I’m still thinking of the French toast. Very fresh and tasty and served very quickly.
Delicious

Nice breakfast place right downtown close to mag mile. The eggs were like a small football size serving!

I was looking forward to a good breakfast and was very disappointed. My avocado toast was a small portion and difficult to eat. The avocado, onion tomato and salmon was all chopped, falling all over and there was little taste. Left feeling hungry. My husband’s cheesy grits were under cheesed and cold. His burrito has no taste, was sloppily wrapped and fell all over the plate. The staff and manager kept breezing by our table saying “ everything okay? “ as if okay was a good indication of a quality meal. Will never go to a Yolk again.

I visited this Yolk (South Loop) location on June 1, 2024, during the ASCO conference, and I had a very disappointing experience.
Even though there were plenty of open and comfortable seats in the center, the host initially led me to a cramped corner table. When I looked around, I noticed that most Asian customers were seated in similar corner spots, while white customers were guided to the better, more spacious tables.
I asked to change my seat, which they allowed, but the fact that I was first led to such a spot made it feel like clear racial bias — as if Asian customers were being grouped together separately.
It was extremely upsetting. Despite that, I still paid and left a 20% tip.
I decided to leave this review not just because of this incident, but also because I experienced a similar situation at a restaurant in New York.
What happened here felt like unmistakable racial discrimination, and I truly hope to see a world filled with respect, not bias or prejudice.
I sincerely wish the management takes this seriously and treats every guest equally and with dignity.

To be honest with the price, I am expecting better tasting of the food… but nope! The pancake is dry and the scrambled has no flavor, the hashbrown with corned beef is actually taste okay but I can feel it is not that freshly made. The capuccino is good though.
