This place is pretty darn good, very deserving of its 4.5 star rating, that’s right where I would put it at. I got a Bao sampler platter with sesame noodles. I was surprised to find out that the sesame noodles was a pasta salad instead of a hot dish but it was still really flavorful. The shrimp bao was my favorite, really tasty sauce. The chicken on the chicken bao was a little dry but still- really yummy sauce and veggies and the pork belly Bao was well cooked and prepared but just not my favorite flavor. Overall tho, this place was excellent. I just finished my dish and I’m already ready for more! This Dum was VERY Yum!
They provided food for the staff at Hooper Elementary School today for Staff Appreciation Week. What a treat for our staff members! The food was delicious. Many staff members were talking about how happy they were with their Vegan/Vegetarian options. The tofu, my friend ate, and she was super impressed with the crispiness the crust provided. I partook in the fish and shrimp option and I was thoroughly impressed and full! We both had opted for the sesame noodles which were excellent. Highly recommend hiring for appreciation days or corporate events!!
We hired Yum Dum for our wedding of 60 guests. We had traded messages with Jeff the owner prior to visiting Yum Dum Truck while they were stationed at an event in downtown Chicago. Upon our arrival to the truck, Jeff couldn't have been nicer and comped our meal as we tried every item on the menu. We instantly fell in love with the food and decided to move forward with Yum Dum as 1 of 2 food trucks for our wedding.
Jeff was great to work with and it was incredibly helpful that he had worked at our venue before. It truly was a well-oiled machine and he had the process down. We also found the pricing to be very fair. The team that worked the day of our wedding were SO nice and it was really great to know that our guests were taken care of.
Food was overcooked, flavor was horrible. Worst food experience we had while in Chicago. Owner of truck or whoever was in charge was a real piece of work. A comment was made when it was known we were from Texas. Just wow!
NOTE: This review for Yum Dum is based on my experience at Yum Dum's concession stand at the Taste of Chicago on 09/07/2024. I had the Korean fried chicken bites. 3/5. It was underwhelming. No real taste. But the main thing was the lack of sauce. It was drizzled on there. The bites were a little dry without the sauce. More sauce was needed. The bites were a little too hard for my satisfaction. I'm not sure if they were fresh or not, but it didn't taste like it. Service was great. Very friendly representatives. They were playing good music and creating a party vibe. Always nice to have.

Went to Argyle nights and ordered the side pasta and two bowls. Absolutely amazing! I rushed over to FB so I can find them again! I will be eating here every Thursday till the end of summer!!
Korean Chili Chicken Baowiches were delicious! Food was prepared quickly and tasted incredibly fresh.
Just had the braised pork buns from the food truck at the Square Roots; they were amazing. Already planning to have y'all cater lunch for our animal hospital in the very near future!

We recently had Jeff and his Yum Dum food truck at our daughters wedding as the late night snack!! It was incredible!! The bao buns and spicy kimchi balls were a huge hit . It was also such a fun surprise for our guests when the truck pulled into the venue! Jeff was a true professional and it was a seamless and pleasant experience working all the details out with him before the big day . HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! And looking forward to dining at his restaurant in ChicAgo as well !
