I had Zella's last night for the first time and WOW was it good. Amazing flavor, fast service, great portion size my entire family their meal! I will definitely be back!

I was a little hesitant about ordering a vegan sandwich here because I’m not vegan so ordered the egg sandwich with sriracha bacon. My friend ordered the vegan so I could have a taste. The sandwich arrived on a large baguette which they bake fresh daily, actually all their bread is freshly baked. It was amazing and the egg was perfectly cooked. The sriracha bacon gave the sandwich a slight kick and so tasty. I took a bite of a half of the vegan sandwich and just froze. I couldn’t believe how delicious it was. The sandwich is made on fresh toasted rye bread. I ended up devouring the whole half and had to finish my egg sandwich because I couldn’t put it down. Then I went for the hat trick. A vegan ice cream sandwich, vegan peanut butter ice cream between two rich vegan chocolate cookies. The best part is you can’t beat the price. It’s a casual place with a take out window due to COVID. I believe they may be back to indoor dining when the weather changes. However, they do have nice outdoor tables to sit at and enjoy. But if you are ever in Logan Square , be sure to check it out. They have amazing home baked pastries, cookies, and do much more. Even better, the staff at the window are fun, energetic and friendly. Be sure to ask them for recommendations. They are extremely helpful.

I haven't dined here since the pandemic because I personally live in the suburbs and Same Day had fully shut down their inside dining restricting themselves to take out and delivery only. I'm writing this review because I'm deeply disappointed in the quality of food that I had received. Now this has nothing to do with the taste of my food but the presentation and the much smaller portions. I'm an independent contractor and own my own time business and to me value for your money is very important to me especially during our ongoing pandemic. I ordered a coffee shake and grilled cheese with tomatoes. When my order was ready I received a text message to pick up my own food and so I took note that my shake was in a small to medium sized plastic cup rather than the tall milkshake shaker and tall glass that was once provided for their customers. My grilled cheese sandwich was delicious but barely filled with tomatoes and my sandwich was extremely flat and served in a disposable brown box with two tiny pickle slices and two tiny fork full servings of coleslaw served in an extremely tiny container. There were no lemons for my water and prior to the pandemic we could sit outside on communal picnic benches where we were served with large pitchers of cold water and a side of lemons. Anyone can come by here to pick up an order to go or sit outside and pick up their order from the pick up window. I paid $20 altogether for a small milkshake and grilled cheese sandwich with barely a hint of coleslaw and I personally don't think I received good value for my money. Honestly the entire inside of this restaurant has been shut off and you are not even allowed inside yet to use their restroom. I'm deeply disappointed but leaving three stars because I still have positive memories of same day cafe pre pandemic. Now that Chicago, Illinois is fully reopen there is absolutely no excuse for the owner not to allow customers to use a restroom. There is no reason why portions of the milkshake were greatly reduced in size but now it's definitely not worth the value of what I paid because I basically served myself to my own food, my own plastic utensils and plastic containers. No efforts have been made to create a positive atmosphere and I'm a die hard foodie so presentation is extremely important to me. This restaurant uploads such enticing photos of their sandwiches but what I actually received was so disappointing I didn't feel the urge to take pictures and post it to my Instagram page. I hope they make improvements but regardless I've no urge to return if they continue on this path.

Listen it’s hard to find good great with great portions in one place‼️ The j*** beef short ribs, Cajun carfish tacos, pot roast (regular & j***** blue magic juice and the shakey sandwich (double catfish sandwich) are just some of my favorites!

I've lived in Garfield Park for five years now, and this is probably my favorite place in the neighborhood for takeout. Everything I've gotten here is delicious and ready to pick up quickly. And it's great to support a black woman owned business right here in the community. Highly recommended.

I frequent Zella’s a lot, Zella’s is located near my job and I’m thankful. I can always count on this place for a good meal! I love their Eggrolls, wings & salmon the most! All of these are definitely must tries. It is a rotating menu throughout the week so the specials change daily. I love seeing all the different things in play there. They also have catering services which I have had for my sons party we had subs, Eggrolls & j*** chicken. Everything was hot and fresh. Not to mention that the owner is very humble and respectful and if you ever have a problem she will most certainly address it.

Food did not look how it is in the picture and my steak was tough and i had baby shrimp instead of jumbo shrimp like in the picture

False advertising food looks nothing like pics on Facebook steak was over cooked & hard had jumbo shrimp on Facebook pics but I got baby shrimp never again & y’all wonder why it’s hard to support black businesses never again
