Zelly's Heavenly Breakfast

My friends and I had breakfast here the morning heading back from our girls trip. It’s a cute mom and pop shop. The prices were good and their food was great. Most notably was the friendly service and especially, Billy. He was fun to talk to and made sure we had everything we needed and more. Will for sure be coming back here whenever we are back in Chicago!

Listen… Zelly’s did not come to play. I had a fat burrito — and I mean FAT, like busting-at-the-seams, full-of-flavor, take-a-nap-after type of fat — and it was heavenly. Every bite was seasoned just right, and the portion? Generous doesn’t even begin to describe it.

The staff was kind, the service was quick, and the food hit like a warm hug from your favorite cousin. Zelly’s feels like that local spot you only find if you really know the city. Chicago, y’all better gatekeep while you still can because once people catch on? It’s over.

10/10. I’ll be back — and next time, I’m bringing friends.

Zelly’s Heavenly Breakfast really delivers. I grabbed a sandwich with fries and a soda for just over $12 and was made to order. Great value for the quality. The staff was friendly and the place had a welcoming non pretentious vibe. If you’re in the area and want a solid meal without spending a fortune, Zelly’s is definitely worth a stop.

Pissed off! I put a specific instruction for my food and they ignored it! Ruined my morning yesterday butter everywhere they kept my money but did not send all the food that I ordered. And when I called the young lady yesterday was so rude. And my daughter was on a strict diet and we had surgery the following day. I am so disappointed

I’ve ordered from Zelly’s several times without an issue. Today I did a DoorDash order and I had 2 dashers waiting for my order that they couldn’t find for over an hour and a half. So 2 phone calls later (I was patient when I should’ve just ordered from somewhere else). I asked if the dasher could show them the order that was paid for, she said I would have to cancel and reorder again. The female that answered the phone had no manager or owner on site and was not able to make a decision without their approval. Either the manager/owner needs to let them make a decision on their own, or they need to learn how to make one on their own. Poor service overall. I will never order from them again. A Family owned business who does not care about their customers, probably not even their staff if they can’t make decisions on their own.

Zelly's Heavenly Breakfast is a great option for a casual, everyday meal. The menu offers a well-curated selection of essential dishes, perfect for a hearty, satisfying meal. The prices at Zelly's are very reasonable, and the service is quick and attentive. Despite the affordable pricing, the food quality is consistently good. There’s ample parking available, though the seating area is a bit limite

The only thing I would change is the space for dining in, as some of us have big families. Good service overall ?

I have been coming here for years and I love their food. Always hot, fresh, and tasty. However, some of the prices they charge you do not reflect price they are advertising. When you come into the restaurant they have a big large sign advertising “breakfast specials”. We ordered the “T-Bone-N-Stack” special which was advertised for $20.98. But my receipt said I was charged $22.50.

When I asked the cashier about it, she told me the manager needs to update the prices. However, I think this is very deceptive because they good and well the prices they are advertising this meal are different from what they are charging customers. Also, she was unwilling to honor the advertising price. This would have at least shown a sign of courtesy.

***So please make sure you get a receipt when you order and make sure you are charged the correct price.***

Secondly, the meal said that it came with 3 pancakes. They did not include my pancakes with me meal. I had to leave and come back and realize I did not have my pancakes. The cashier had the nerve to give me attitude and blame me about it as well, when I clearly never said I did not want pancakes.

The cashier gave me the wrong number to reach out to the manager about these issues, but made it her business to call the manager in front of us as if we did something wrong. Which was very unprofessional and messy.

Lastly, they charge you an extra .50 cent fee for each meal for the 'to go box' which is what your food comes in. This is ridiculous. I have never seen a restaurant charge you for the plate/box when you order to go.

It seems they are very money hungry and trying to hike up the prices over any little thing.
They need to improve on their customer service and stop engaging in false advertisement.

If you're hungry after a night out, they will solve that! Nothing fancy, just food that will fill you up without being too costly. It used to be named "Kevin's Hamburger Heaven", or what everyone referred to as "The Truck Stop". New name, same good food that fills you up with decent portions. T-Bone steak with eggs and hash browns is the perfect wakeup meal, or the chopped steak omelette which is nothing fancy, just good to eat. Recently rediscovered this place and have been there over 5 times in 3 weeks. Good, inexpensive eating.
