I visited the location #0169 Collinsville, IL on January 3,2025 approximately at 7:05pm. Ordered inside on kiosk and awaited 45 minutes and no one had yet called out my order. I went up to check the status and was told that it would be another 15-20 minutes unfortunately because they were cooking the fries, as if 45 minutes wasn’t already enough time I just had waited. The manager was respectful and I asked for a refund and awaited another 10 minutes for that to be accomplished. Awaited for my refund and unfortunately upon reviewing my bank account they charged me the order and never did refund me. I tried call the location but no luck as I live 40 minutes away from it and couldn’t visit. Today I returned to the location with the card I utilized, customer reward ID and transaction number as I missed placed my receipt but was told it would be to much work to look it up and they preferred a paper receipt by manager on duty Kevin. I’m just displeased with the service and would like my refund for the food I did not receive or the food but did not get either.
If you're going for Steak and Shake classic Steak and Shake Ambience this ain't it Steak n Shake was already struggling but this location decided to I guess what they consider update whoever decided to turn everything into a computer needs to go play in traffic that is the most coldest bizarre unhappy food establishment we got checked on but it's just so cold and uninviting and my food was kind of ass it wasn't prepared as advertised didn't have the toppings there's no one there to check on anybody so no one cares they don't get any business so no one cares to have integrity for their job

The employees wont change their gloves from the grill to the counter I watched this guy not change his gloves. The manager was no better this is normal behavior because nobody wanted their hands
It has changed a lot when it first opened. There is no real service any more. Orders are done via a kiosk I guess take out is OK. But dine-in not so much?

I visited this steak n shake on 8/13 so this review is a little overdue. Anyway they ladies that were working that day were super friendly and the food was fantastic. It was one of the best steak n shake experiences that I've had and my girlfriend thought it was the best food she has had on her trip the USA from Colombia. Keep up the good work!
