Loved the enchiladas de verduras! Construction makes it difficult to get to and notice but I promise it's a gem✨️ prices are affordable, friendly staff and delicious plates

El Alebrije Mexican Restaurant & bar is a hidden gem, though construction makes it difficult to get to and notice. The enchiladas de verduras are loved, and the mole is the best this side of Harlem. The sopes are so flavorful that one reviewer thought they were in a Michelin-starred restaurant, with the plantain one like a dessert. The fajitas have perfectly cooked meats, and the handmade blue corn tortillas are soft and tasty. The churros are crispy and the right amount of sweet. The queso fundido, chicken mole, and pozole are also loved. Everything is made from scratch in-house. The food is consistently delicious, and the high-quality, fresh ingredients can really be tasted in every dish. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the service is excellent. Prices are affordable, though some find the portion sizes small compared with the prices and suggest lowering prices or increasing portions. The inside would benefit from more decor or a little remodel. Overall, it is a wonderful small family business with great atmosphere and great value.
