I attended their open mic jam session (1st Sunday of the month 1-6 pm). Play fiddle and violin. The regulars were excellent to work with, easy going. Service was great, and beverages very reasonably priced. Great time.
This place has been totally remodeled and has a space to host large parties. All are welcome here. The owner is a very nice upstanding gentleman. Stop here if you are driving from Champaign to Indianapolis.. or if you are making a day trip to Danville from Indiana. People at the black bear are very friendly to those who only see the Sunnyside.
This is a true home town bar.. The bar tender Emily should be the manager she has so many good ideas on themed nights. And she's very friendly. This place has a lot of bad rumors about it. I assure you their not true... I love this place
