They were out of cold brew and recommended iced coffee. The iced coffee was very watered down. Chai tea latte was decent, but it seemed kind of like a powdered mix drink. Staff were friendly.

I ordered a large latte it was wonderful, I went back ordered a ex large and got almost all milk, well stick with a large. Service the young ones need to stay off their phones.

Wonderful coffee shop in Mt. Zion, illinois. Splendid staff who prepare your coffee promptly and correctly. They offer a wide variety of hot and cold coffee plus teas and other beverages. A plus is the selection of wonderful pastries to accompany your beverage. While they have a drive-up window, I prefer to sit and sip my coffee inside where there are tables and chairs in a pleasant environment. The shop also sells packages of roasted coffee and teas as well as coffee filters and other essentials. It is located in a small strip mall with easy access from the road. Parking, while small, is adequate. It is worth a visit and will not disappoint.Parking: Small area, but easy to find spotWheelchair accessibility: Accessible. Tables inside are perfect.

Moved to Decatur a few months ago. Found Black Iron sure to it being so close to my house. Was amazed at how great the staff was on my first visit. They're friendly and enjoy a good laugh. Coffee is excellent too. Highly recommend the Java Chip frap. Plus they sell a small selection of pastries each day.Kid-friendliness: There's literally a basket of toys for kids to play with. Most kid friendly thing I've ever seen in a coffee shop.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of sugar free options and they will let you know what you can and cannot eat from their menu.

When we travel back into town it is usually a favorite stop, but this most recent visit was not the best. Coffees are typically quite good, but I recommend the latte over the cappuccino. The burrito tastes mostly like a McDonald's burrito for 3x the price.
