Do not use this location for Uhaul rental. They will find ways to overcharge you.

Nice to see a new business taking the steps to improve Decatur and a place to hang out

Don't really like having to call someone to come to let you in the building.

Great place and atmosphere!

This place charges for soda and water. The workers here aren't even HALF as courteous as any other slot room Ive been to in this town. It's never been full so far.
Dedra Austin-Blythe
New slot place. Pretty decent inside has alot of sitting space. No complimentary drinks

I did not receive a proper education. Upon graduating, I could not find work because of my lack of skills. When I finally got hired at a salon, they didn't keep me long. I was devastated. The program was being upgraded as I graduated, so maybe the people who graduate after me won't have such an issue.

please boycott mr. john's beauty school!!! when i lived in jacksonville, 2001-2006, i was a bi- weekly customer and had fair results! but i am horrified how one current student there got another couple of her friends (2 weeks after said event) to lie for her about a customer! this student was too scared to work on a member of the jdcc community. my friend, a licensed cosmotologist and a 12 year jdcc worker with an unblemished record, gave her a couple of tips. some of these students think they already know it all so the advice was not taken well! she retaliated by lying to jdcc that my friend was verbally abusive to the 3 'residents' she was working on. (the 3 she didn't want to serve in the first place & had asked not to!) now my friend has lost her job! no customer complained about her, the accompanying staff member stood up for her, but because this student lied and got 3 other students to lie for her, my 51 yr old friend, single mom of 2 teens loses a 12 year state job! please do not go to mr. john's! the owner obviously doesn't teach the students how to deal with so-called handicapped clients so first of all they are discriminating and are not ada compliant! next he allowed these students to lie! what if it's you with your kid(s) next time....will they call dchs on you for something they didn't do???? please spend a couple of bucks except and go to a fully licensed stylist and hopefully not a graduate of mr.johns because it has gone downhill fast in 6 years!! thanks!
I don't know what the student experience is like, but I can say they do hair and nail services at a great price. Since they're students, the instructors are hovering, making sure they don't do something wrong. It's a good bet! The only downside is being talked about, kind of like a test subject, and it takes a little longer than usual. But, hey, you can feel good that you're contributing in some small way to someone's education.
Clean and friendly environment.
