Jo's Shoe Shack

We just didn't enjoy this meal. I love supporting local businesses and was excited to try Jo's Shoe Shack because so many people love it. The service was excellent and the operators were patient and friendly. This just wasn't for us. Part of the issue is a result of the take-out aspect. Everything sits in a styrofoam container and steams until you get where you are going (we were six minutes to home). The bread/toast was soggy wet from the steam of the meat and fries. The fries were oddly sweet and also not krispy. The meat (we got chicken) has really good flavor as does the cheese sauce. But the sweetness of the fries and the totally wet bread just didn't work for us. The whole meal was one texture....soft/soggy. Maybe the other meat options are less wet and make a better shoe? We probably won't go back, but everyone should at least give it a try, because based on the reviews here, some people love it.

I had the pulled pork shoe & chocolate donuts. Both items were amazing. The owners were very friendly. I can't wait to try something else.

Worst food ive had anywhere the fries are covered in sugar and the cheese and queso are horrible tasted nothing like cheese wish i would have read an honest review on the place before i wasted 40 bucks smh

Amazing service and generous portions !!!

Went for my first time today, wasn’t sure what to order…. I told them to surprise me and let me tell ya that was the best horseshoe I’ve had and I travel for work a lot so I eat at random places I think I had the chicken horseshoe with buffalo sauce I’ll definitely return! I didn’t catch your names but thanks for giving me a good experience!

The chicken horseshoe with BBQ sauce was great and the donuts were fantastic.

The owners are so kind and got my food out in a timely manner. It was clearly freshly made and tasted SO amazing! Definitely will be a regular customer!

Stopped by today for the first time and ordered a pulled pork horse shoe and a Buffalo chicken horse shoe. Both were AMAZING! Hands down some of the best food I’ve gotten in Decatur! We WILL be back!

Great food and great service! Big portions and I usually eat half and save the rest for later. They are very accommodating to leave the cheese off for my daughter who can’t have it. We love it!

Outstanding food and service. He was extremely nice and food was out quick. Prices are fair. I got the BBQ shoe with pickles and sour cream. Everything about it was absolutely delicious. It is now one of my favorite places and going to be one of my regular stops. No complaints
