I’ve been in coffee shops all over North America for more than a few years. The River is hands down my favorite - with the best coffee selection I’ve seen/had anywhere. I’m blessed to have The River right here in Decatur.
I’ve been lucky to travel all over the country and was thrilled to find a coffee shop in Decatur that is as good or better than any coffee shop in any major city in the country. This place is a Central IL treasure with an atmosphere to match. Not to be missed!

The cafe has a calm and cozy atmosphere, perfect for working on laptops or chatting with friends. Their coffee beans have special sorts of aroma and taste really good when mixed with oat milk. Limited seating, but it's a top spot in Decatur for morning coffee, especially for cortado lovers, and also a great place to grab a coffee like the Good News Brew.
