Upper Crust Bagels - Deerfield

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for years! We've always loved everything from here, but I was so appalled by the way we were treated when we came in today.

When I ordered, the man behind the counter made a mistake (it's busy, totally understandable!) but then when I asked if they could fix it, instead of making it right he tried to prove me that I was wrong, and remade my sandwich but still did it incorrectly, with no toppings or cream cheese. Because apparently paying $50 for two bagel sandwiches and two drinks also allows people to treat you poorly!

My boyfriend went back in to get it fixed and walked into hear the men behind the counter talking negatively about him in Spanish for asking them to fix their mistake. The owner's son didn't do much to make it right. We'll be contacting the owner, but we will for sure never be coming back!

On top of the cooks being rude, they also began checking people out while I was there checking out with the owner’s son and laughed when someone pushed me. Terrible experience overall.

New York Bagel and Bialy is much better anyways.

I made the mistake once of getting a breakfast sandwich somewhere else. I will never make that mistake again. Lol - Upper Crust makes one of the highest quality and best tasting sandwiches in the area.

Terrible service and I am a long time costumer. We had been waiting for 20 minutes for our order and seeing everyone else who had waited behind us in line get their order. We asked nicely when we could expect our order she responded by saying “I didn’t realize you wanted your potatoes raw.”

Totally disrespectful and uncalled for. On top of that the bagels were burned and didn’t taste good.

Very tasty bagel! Almost everyone who came in (including me) took a while ordering and they definitely had a flow going on behind the deli but they were so kind and patient with me and with everyone else I noticed. Good value and it's just a classic. The door is around the back of where you think it'd be but they do have signs haha.

I'm sorry, I'm done. Long-time Upper Crust customer shocked this morning seeing the establishment raised it's prices. A dozen bagels, TWELVE BAGELS, now $17.50. That's more expensive than Once Upon A Bagel in HP. To be honest, if they charged $30 for a dozen bagels, and you patronize them, they deserve to pick your pockets. Blew us out of your store.

The Baker's Dozen from Einstein Brothers at $14, a great bagel ... further from the $20 a doz. price point.

It's a legit bagel, plus the service is outstanding. Not a huge menu, but everything they do, they do well. Try the hash browns.

From a visit back in July. A very extensive menu, lots and lots of options, both savory and sweet. To beat a potential breakfast rush, we ordered online ahead of time in the morning--worked out well, easy pick-up. Conveniently near the Metra station if you're grabbing before a commute.
