I always enjoy the food at this establishment, but the service as of late has been more than abismal. Usually I let one bad experience slide but this is my third time when ordering take out that my wait time has been significantly longer then expected. When you order take out they will send you a text letting you know when your food is ready and each time i have had to wait 15-20 min in the restaurant after the given order is ready time. Love the place and recommend it just make sure you are prepared to wait

We enjoyed our lunch here. We three ordered six different items and they were all good. It's almost a self serve place. You order on a monitor and the food is delivered by a cute little robot named Mushroom. And then you bus your own table. We saw how others complained about the gruffness of the staff. I think that's just his usual look. It's located just off campus and we were impressed that they take HuskyBucks. Prices are good, too. I only have four stars because I like to be waited on a bit.

This was my first time ever eating here. We placed our order on the kiosk and picked a table. Tables did not seem to get wiped down very often. I personally would get rid of the robot they have that brings your food out cause it honestly seems like a waste of time. Also it's very unappetizing to see your food brought out by a robot who has trays covered in food and haven't been wiped down. Food should not be brought out on a dirty tray! Our appetizer came out before our drink and then we received our two sushi rolls this all seemed to happen in the first 10 minutes of being there. The sushi was just ok. Not long after our sushi came out one of the girls working there asked how everything was, and we told her we were still waiting on our steak fried rice which was no big deal at the time. We assumed she probably went and said something to the kitchen to check on it. Roughly 20 minutes later after finishing the food that was brought out to us, and seeing multiple people who placed their order after us receive all their food including fried rice as well. I figured maybe we better say something cause they might have forgotten about our food. We went up and asked politely how much longer for our fried rice and we were told generally 15 minutes. After another 10 to 15 minutes of waiting and having said something twice we went up and asked again and it was very clear our order had been forgotten about and didn't get made. The girl we talked to was the same girl who we first mentioned we were still waiting on the rest of our order when our sushi came out. She then brought out some guy I assume was a manager and I asked for a refund on the fried rice. It seemed like a very big waste of my time sitting for almost a hour after already finishing my food and waiting for the rest of our order and then finding out we basically sat there for nothing. Next time I will take my business elsewhere. If the owner wants proof id be more than happy to email a copy of my receipt.

Easily one of the best places near NIU! I always get takeout around lunch time and I feel like you get your moneys worth with the amount of food they give you. The employees are always kind and service is fast and friendly. Their signature pink sauce that is included with all hibachi dishes is delicious.

Found this hidden gem tonight while spending the day in Dekalb. If your in the area and hungry stop in and try their wonderful selection and wide variety of sushi sashimi and a hibachi grill if your not in the mood for sushi. Defiantly will be back!! Service was great a robot brought our food which was cool and the ambiance is very laid back and nice. Thank you for the great dinner!

I love stopping by Fushi Yami whenever I'm in the area. It's a quick service sushi bar that offers a wide selection of sushi, sashimi, nigiri and more! The prices are super affordable for sushi and their combination plates offer a variety of sushi rolls for a great price!

Probably the best sushi place you will find in a college town. The volcano is my favorite and have never seen that anywhere else I have been to. They definitely make the food ready for Americans. Absolutely amazing.

This was my first time and absolutely last time coming here. It was so hyped up, and I couldn't have been more disappointed. We ordered on the kiosk and selected to dine in. After nearly half an hour, everybody in the restaurant had been served, but us. I went up to ask and the lady said she didn't know I was dining in, even though I selected that when ordering. They only then starting making our order. Instead they were working on phone and app delivery orders. The food finally came but not our bubble teas. Wasn't sure if we should start eating without our drinks. Decided to go up and ask again. Nobody acknowledged me. I eventually overheard somebody saying that the bubble teas are coming out shortly. I just sat down. After about 2/3 of our meal was eaten, the drinks came. The lady didn't say which was which and couldn't have cared less. Not even a polite apology. Horrible experience. I shouldn't have to go up and ask or beg people to fulfill my $40 order, that's ridiculous. Never returning.

Gotta admit. The new employees need to already have years of sushi making experience. Sushi is an art. Not something u just whip together. Normally I'm not disappointed. But this time. I ordered unogi and salmon. Salmon was warm. BIG NO NO. Rice was not packed tight and falling apart. The unogi was not properly deboned, and was also warm. Not a fan of eating bones. ? hopefully next time will be better
