Not gonna lie, I ended up here because my husband and I needed a quick snack, and I tried to go to Choo Choo down the street, but they were packed. When I walked in, there was a long line, and that seemed promising, plus it was moving quickly. We wanted something savory, so we ordered a ham and cheese croissant, a goat cheese and pesto croissant, and a spinach quiche. They warmed up the pastries and brought them out to our table pretty quickly. I was surprised the pastries were so good. The croissants were so flakey and delightful. The spinach quiche had a lovely crust. I completely forgot to take pictures because I was in a rush and starving, but I also saw a security sign that said no camera allowed. I wish they had more savory pastry options with meat, but the ham and cheese croissant was all they had when I visited. I did see that they had sandwiches that could be ordered, so I might try that if I am ever in the area again.

The coffee was very basic, I was very disappointed by the quality of food and beveragesPersonally it was not worth the trip as the chocolate torte ($9 ) was not fresh tasting, was dry and mousee was also hard and dry lacking flavor!Again, not worth the price, service was good though.

Worst customer service ever. Latte was just okay. The stuff was very rude and ignorant.

We love this place and wish they were bigger and open longer. The people, food, hot and cold beverages, the breads and sweets, sandwiches and other goodies. Their products remind me of the bread and food my Grandma made in Poland. Words cannot describe how fresh and good everything is. We come here at least 1-2 times a week. This week it was for bread and a latte then yesterday for paczki and tea. Check this place out. The bread will melt in your mouth. Prices are beyond fair for what you get. Hands down the best best best bread and treats are here and no one compares.

I appreciate the use of organic flours to limit pesticide exposure ?? pastries are also made so well, their quality is the best I’ve had in Chicago by far. Really enjoyed the French Pastry with Custard and the Pear and Almond Tart, both were perfect and not obnoxiously sweet so you can actually taste the different flavor profiles.

Everything I’ve tried over the years has been absolutely scrumptious and indulgent without being annoyingly over sweet like most places. These bakers are artisans. I now bring their bread as a host gift for dinners because I got everyone addicted to their wonderful bread. Their savory items and sandwiches are delicious as well. They make a superb latte. I love this charming place. Modern yet traditional. I have high standards and this cafe/bakery is quality.

The best organic sourdough you can have. I always go in and grab at least 2 loaves. Their breakfast pastries and pizza are really yummy too. A great place to have in downtown Des plaines. I hope they never leave!
