My wife and I went to check this place out because i saw them on Instagram and the food looked quite good. We were going to be in the neighborhood so we decided to try it out. At first I was thrown off because the pictures don't show how small this place is. Either way, we went in with a positive attitude. The decor is modern maritime themed. Not sure why but my wife and I were only given one menu instead of two, but thought nothing of it. I noticed they had quesabirrias so I definitely wanted to taste those. Unfortunately, they were not good. First they had way too much fat and gristle. It literally felt like I was chewing gummy bears. The consome had zero flavor. Also, they should've left the tortilla on the grill longer because they were too soggy. I also ordered a coctel de camaron. I can honestly say that I've never had a bad coctel anywhere but this was my first time having a bad coctel. I don't know what liquid they put in it but it did not taste very good, and yet at the same time, the shrimp didn't taste like anything, not even the natural shrimp flavor. My wife ordered a shrimp tostada and a tostada de aguachiles. She also complained about the food not tasting like anything. She just said it was really spicy but no other flavor. I really wanted to like this place but neither my wife or I enjoyed our meals. I wish them well but we won't be back.

Shrimp empanadas with cheese barely has Shrimp. Lemonade with no refills - based on price - they should be able to give you a refill. I feel this place can improve. Definitely I will not go back as it is also expensive.

My new favorite restaurant! I'm originally from Southern California, and grew up eating Baja-style seafood. That said, this place is amazing! Highly recommended. Big portions for the price. Their green salsa is top-notch, as well. I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

I am 100% Puerto Rican and I prefer this Mexican Coco Loco restaurant over the Puerto Rican Jibarito Time next door to it. Last time I went to Jibarito the food was way too salty and not as great as Coco Loco. I'd much rather go to Coco Loco Mexican again. Coco Loco is very flavorful, great drinks, cute decor, and I will be coming back. I'm so happy I found this Mexican restaurant! Another great restaurant, if you're looking for great Puerto Rican food, is Jibaritos on Harlem, which is wayyy better than Jibarito Time Des Plaines.
Ceviche was amazing! I ordered another one after I smashed the first one? Love that it's BYOB and a liquor store a few feet away! Great decor along with the service.
I got their shrimp cocktail and their coconut lemonade. It was delicous. The only downside is thT is a very small place. So if you plan on going with a group larger than 5 on a weekend, it will be hard to find a seat.
Such a cute tropical feel. It is BYOB and it's nice that the liquor store is a few feet away. The food is delicious. Highly recommend the coco loco dinner. It's a coconut filled with seafood and topped with avocado and salsa valentina. The DJ is really good and makes the environment even better. Highly recommend. Will be back
Worth the wait! The food was flavorful and filling. Great portions, small restaurant but the vibe was great. The longostinos to me was the star of the show. There empanadas are yummy. Wash it down with a refreshing coconut lemonade you will not be dissatisfied.
Food was okay... But horrible service... came in and had no tables ready. and was told to have it for take-out ... no restaurant should ever tell customer to take-out...unprofessional. One of the servers was very rude. Also you have to order and pay right away... would not come back.

The food was delicious and great customer service ?
If you're looking for a "SEAFOOD" place than Coco loco is your place. It's a hole in the wall Hidden Jam!!!!!! Great place for seafood. The hostes has great customer service. The food is delicious and portions are big enough to share. But I choose not to share mine ?. I highly recommend this restaurant. I know your asking why did I rated a 4 star and not a 5 star. Simple they don't have a liquor license so I would have given them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Don't worry you won't be disappointed........ ambience and food are great.
Kid-friendliness: They have a friendly kids Menu. What child does not like chicken tenders or fries.???
Parking: Plenty of parking
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy wheelchair entrance.
Wow — such a fantastic gem offering truly authentic flavors with amazing service. My partner and I went for his birthday because his favorite food is ceviche. I was intrigued by the Aguachiles, but kindly warned of the spice level…and man did it pack a PUNCH!!! Sooooo much flavor and extreme heat…I was dripping sweat down the back of my head ?? the person who took our order came over and made the cutest joke about how “white people” usually can’t handle the heat and they were “proud” that I could ? ? the ceviche was also amazing, tho my tongue couldn’t taste it as well ? they also threw in a complimentary churro order bc it was my partners birthday. Such a great experience. Wish we lived closer but will def be returning for more when we can!
I first came to this place on a recommendation, and I have to say, that recommendation didn't do them justice. The food is incredibly fresh and tastes amazing. I've tried a few different dishes and each one has been delicious. If you haven't tried their Coco Loco Ceviche, you should. It is a lot of food, but the leftovers are still going to wow you the next day. If you don't mind spending an upcharge, get chunks of coconut added to any of the ceviche options and you won't be disappointed. The customer service has been great, and I've never had a bad experience here.
The food was a little pricey, but it is some what expected for sea food. The portions were fair. The food was great and worth every penny. The coconut lemonade was really creative and good. Overall a good experience, decor was cozy and again food was great.
