This sushi spot is absolutely great! Service was friendly, fast, and attentive! We came here for a late dinner. We had the Deep Fried Oyster, Shrimp Shumai, Salmon Ikura, Crispy Rice Tuna, and Red Dragon. Everything came out fresh! No photos taken ✌🏼bc we were hungry! We will definitely be back!

I went for lunch with high expectations because I’ve heard good things about Chicago Sushi. I mainly wanted the jewelry box because that’s mainly what attracted me to this restaurant. Fish tasted fresh, rice was nicely seasoned, but the salmon pieces looked like the shaved, broken end pieces that’s supposed to be chopped up for spicy salmon rolls. On top of that, I found 3 pieces of scale in the salmon bits. The tuna, eel, ikura, uni, and everything else in the box were delicious though. Just really disappointed with the salmon because of the strands of random parts of salmon and scales.

I also ordered the crispy rice with spicy tuna. Tuna was fine but the crispy rice tasted like it was refried and fried too hard.

My husband ordered the pork cutlet curry. We didn’t see anywhere on the menu where this is supposed to be a cold curry served with lukewarm rice. Our server never came around to our table to see how we were doing, if we needed a refill on ice, or if we needed anything else. So I couldn’t even ask him about the cold curry and rice. The pork was either overcooked or just a poor cut because it was chewy.

Edamame was fine.

The server only came back around when he noticed we were done eating. He brought the check with him too but didn’t say much to us other than thank you for dining with us today.

Overall I would not go back based on the salmon quality and service we received.

Food was not good. My fiancé and I went there and unfortunately the food wasn’t good. I think the quality of fish here isn’t good and the miso soup was sour like spoiled. We got two rolls and walked out throwing up. Never have we ever eaten sushi and left feeling sick. Seriously need to have a food inspector stop in. Also just viewed a review that stated they received hives from their sushi bc of improper storage. This seems like a common theme that they do not store food properly. I really regret eating here and not reading reviews earlier and pray that we do not get more sickness from this. Hopefully projectile vomiting got this out of our system. Don’t make the same mistake we did:(

I sat at the table infront the sushi part. Inside was small and cozy. Bathrooms clean. The curry was a hearty portion!! The shrimp and oysters were perfectly crispy

Food and overall ambient was amazing!
The only downside was that the floor was sticky for some reason.

Long story short: I developed serious hives all over my body after eating the tuna here.

The deets: I came here with my wife and daughter on Saturday at ~5pm. We were the only ones in there the whole time with maybe 2-3 customers picking up orders. My wife and I both ordered an Ume Jewelry Box consisting of salmon, tuna, eel, cucumber, salmon roe, imitation crab meat, and egg on top of rice. We also ordered the chicken karaage appetizer and a Beef Box from the kid's menu. The food came out and already did not look appealing: the fish in our jewelry boxes looked poorly cut with the tuna cut into tiny cubes and the salmon looking almost shredded. The karaage was also disappointing because it was very dry (my wife believes they used chicken breast), had hardly any breading, and was barely fried at all. Lastly, our daughter's Beef Box was supposed to include gyoza, but they just threw in more dry karaage for whatever reason. My wife only ate some of the salmon and rice before deciding that she didn't like it, so I finished her dish along with mine. There was already a decent amount of soy sauce in the dish but I also added some wasabi sauce so I didn't really notice any abnormal flavor. I was also pretty hungry so I scarfed them both down.

Fast forward 4-5 hours later and I start to feel some itchiness all over my body with some red welts starting to develop. I took an Allegra to address the itching and went to bed. The next morning the red welts start to spread, and by the end of the day they developed into full-blown hives all over my arms, legs, chest, back, neck, face, and scalp (I included a couple pictures of the hives when they started, but you'll have to trust me when I say that it got *much much* worse later on since I don't want to gross anyone out with those pictures). After searching on Google for possible causes, we determined the cause to be histamine fish poisoning/scombroid fish poisoning which occurs after eating fish that has not been properly handled and stored, causing histamine levels to increase. This mostly occurs in tuna, which would explain why my wife didn't develop a reaction while I developed a severe one. I'm not sure if the current heat wave played a part in the improper storage/handling of the fish; I wouldn't be surprised if it did, however that still wouldn't excuse any poor storage methods. I also read some other recent reviews of their sushi rolls being warm when they were served. I sincerely hope no one else has gone through the same thing I'm going through now.

This was a huge disappointment to say the least since we've been wanting to try it for a while. But I guess we waited too long before it started going downhill. Never coming back here again.

first time ordering and am full of regret :( no one wants pre packaged ginger and wasabi ! my sushi rolls are warm, and my avocado roll is missing all of the sauce and toppings. the fried tofu WITH sauce was IN a pool of liquid, so soft and horrible texture, what was even the point of frying it if you're going to soak it in liquid like that? what a waste.

I wish I would leave zero stars review but unfortunately you have to leave at least one. Ordered from them Sunday night for delivery. The second we opened the bag we knew we are not gonna eat it. Everything looked old and dry. One roll was cut into few huge pieces and one really thin one. I mean all the rolls were cut horribly and unevenly and there was no way to eat it. Rolls didn’t look even close to what they are advertising. Would not recommend it. And also they are not cheap, I’m used to “you get what you pay for” but that’s not the case with this place. Stay away from them. Never again

Food was not great. I found an avocado sticker with the avocado skin on it in my salmon avocado roll. I understand accidents happen but it was sticking out of the piece, they should've seen it. My other roll wasn't bad, the tempura Philadelphia, but it has avocado as well which made me cautious while eating and made the whole experience not as pleasant. Then the last roll to be brought out, the rainbow roll, just didn't look good at all. It was sloppy and the fish did not look fresh. We ended up sending that one back and had them take it off our bill, which came out to $54 for 4 rolls. They did offer us a free mochi dessert but we declined. I would have liked a discount offer rather than a dessert. Also the bathrooms were not very clean. The service wasn't terrible, but overall, I would not recommend eating here.

Great food. Eaten here many times, each time food is great. Miso soup, all rolls and bowls are excellent.
