Sorry but this time we were not happy with the crabcakes or the crab gumbo. Heavy crabcakes didn't even come close to a delicious crabcake. It tasted mostly of filler
Gumbo was a bowling of rice with very little of the delicious brown sauce and no detectable crabmeat.
Service was good so I gave it a 2. Have to think about going back.
I believe in value for your money...this was not close.

I ordered cod sandwich and corn on the cob.
Sandwich had too much batter and ruined the fresh taste of cod, I will seriously suggest that they try no batter, just the fish done anyway will come out great, I have had it at Houston’s in New York and tastes heavenly. The corn was not sweet and it was flaky, telling me it was taken out of freezer. Honestly would not order any of the above food again and may be none. As if you do something , do everything good. This represented you , it was an Uber order and the total $20 some went to garbage. If was able to I will demand my money back.

My friend and I came today for the first time and were excited, however, my friend received less than 2 ounces of coleslaw as a side…when asked why the side was so small, the girl at the register said, “well that’s what the customers like. If you substitute that’s another side,” although coleslaw was offered as a side. The worker was curt and pretty dismissive. Not sure that we will be back.

Parking: It’s kind of at a weird angle when getting to the place so don’t miss the spot

Cute place and nice service but the food falls short. Fried shrimp tasted bland. But the fried calamari? Greasy, and the breading fell off entirely with each piece as I picked it up. Each ring was so rubbery I swear I could sling shot it across the parking lot.

A neighborhood staple for many years,this family owned seafood market and eatery does not disappoint.

We used to order from Dons Dock multiple times when we lived in the area so since we were in Des Plaines ,we decided to stop in for a late lunch. The staff is super friendly and their food is mainly homemade recipes.

We ordered the Fish n Chips meal which came with fries and coleslaw. My wife had a small order of jambalaya since she is gluten free.

The food is cooked while you wait and is brought to your table. As we were waiting there was a constant flow of customers.

The food portions are perfect and everything tasted great just like we remembered.

They must be doing something right since they have been open since 1951.

Next time in the Des Plaines area,stop in for some fresh seafood ..you will be hooked!

My goal when I go out for my me lunch dates?, I typically try new places, so that is how I stumbled upon this place. The people were really friendly but the food was not good at all. The soup lobster bisque was too thick. There was no lobster in it, and maybe 3 potato pieces. I also ordered hush puppies, the flavor was good but they were fried too hard.

Parking: The place is small but parking was good.
