No idea why I don't eat here more. Classic Cuban and Puerto Rican comfort food, affordable and cooked with love. Its rare to find a restaurant which pleases the entire family but this never fails. With the trend towards so many "haute latin" restaurants, don't we all just want classic dishes cooked perfectly. A great menu but wifey and I always end up with the bistec cuban style and plantains. My daughters loved the empandanas, tostones and sometimes the cuban sandwich. Its BYOB too and the staff is always more than happen to provide corkage and glassware for free.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I placed an expensive order, and they messed it all up. I called back and they gave me attitude and didn't do anything about it. Specifically, I wanted potato salad with my dinner and I didn't get it, and they told me when I called that they "probably didn't have it". Working at a restaurant, I know how customer service should be, and I did not get the treatment I should have gotten. I did not get credit or anything to compensate. I do not recommend going to this place unless you want attitude and a wrong order. You won't see me step my foot in there again.

Had my mom's 90th birthday celebration there. Food outstanding, generous amount of food & Gina (owner) & staff were fabulous.

Best Latin American food I've ever had, my wife and I have made this one of our regulars. Try out the Cubano sandwich with a side of pork empanadas. Amazing.

Walking into this restaurant, my expectations were quite low. Despite the good reviews, the place was empty. I mean, empty. A big, open room, and it was us and the waitress. We ordered the jibarito and a Cuban sandwich. I got to say, both were incredible. I just got the half sandwich and it was more than enough! The horchata was pretty good as well. The only thing that keeps it from getting 5 stars was the speed of service. With the amount of people in the restaurant, I just would've expected our food out a bit faster.

Easily one of the most ordinary tacos and coffee I ever had at any restaurant. My colleague and I stopped for a quick bite before another meeting and boy was I disappointed. The staff was friendly but. Place I won't revisit.

El Bistro Latino is our FAVORITE restaurant in the area, and we eat out a lot. We've eaten there more than a dozen times since it's opened and have loved literally everything we've tried on the menu. Among our go-tos are: Cubano dinner, Jibarito sandwich, Gina's Lechon, and Arrachera skirt steak. For appetizers, the tostones and yuca fritas are amazing. El Bistro Latino serves up their dishes in a myriad of styles: Cuban, Puerto Rican, and Mexican. Again, they're all fabulous and flavorful. Cherry on top, El Bistro is BYOB! This is a family-owned establishment, and the owners are hardworking, sweet people. They truly care and take great pride in providing excellent service and food. It's been an honor seeing their restaurant continue to grow and become a true, local gem.

This cute place is family owned & ran. I have been here a few times, mostly ordering take-out. I can't get enough of the Platanos Maduros (plantains) that comes with the sweet, thick dipping sauce. We also like the jibarritos which is a sandwich made with plantains instead of bread and is gluten free. There were a couple desserts written on the chalk board behind the bar the last couple times I was there that are "coming soon." I look forward to trying these next time I go. I'm also a fan of the horchata. The family that runs the place has always been nice and attentive. I'm glad to support a local family ran business and hope they continue to do well.

What can I say about this place other than it is FANTASTIC?! I had been searching for a place to have a small wedding and reception in the NW suburbs. El Bistro Latino was suggested to me, but I dismissed it because they didn't have a private party room. Not finding exactly what I wanted I gave them a call. They, owners Gina and Eddie, told me they could handle my event without hesitation. They have a small outdoor patio and, having an early September wedding, it would be private enough since I wasn't going to have more than 30 people. Gina worked with our budget and created a menu that was perfect. She also did all the decorating. I dropped off my decorations the night before and she took care of it, which was a huge blessing. I told her what I wanted and she made it happen. The food was out of this world- tender steak, rice and beans, elotes, tostones, salad, and huge portions. My guests said they never ate so well at a wedding before. It's BYOB, so we purchased cases of beer and wine and dropped it off the night before. We brought our own coolers to hold the beer and they provided ice. Perfect! It had had been raining quite a bit that week so I was praying for no rain. I told Gina, even if it's cloudy I still want to be outside. So she set everything up outside and what we didn't plan for was the wind. Vases got knocked over and water spilled on my tablecloths and favors. When we made the last minute decision to bring the party indoors, Gina was relieved and moved everything in without hesitation. She gave us the main dining area, yet still took in other customers and seated them in the bar. I was initially worried about this but, to be honest, I never noticed anyone else but those in my party. We had the actual ceremony outside, which provided the intimacy I desired and then everyone came in to eat. We had the event from 11-2 on a Saturday morning. Gina and Eddie- you made my special day a dream come true. You are an amazing couple and it is reflected in your business, from the setting to the amazing food. Thank you for all you did to make my wedding memorable.

Was staying at the Loews Hotel in Rosemont and was looking for a Colombian Restaurant. Yelp sent me to El Bistro Latino. Although it is not just a Colombian restaurant they had the best Colombian empanadas I've had at any restaurant in the Chicagoland area. Also, to my surprise it is BYOB! The food was great, they had outdoor seating and played good music! I'll definitely go back!

Much FLAVOR in the dishes served here. Menu has choice selections from various regions to help make deciding easier. Outstanding taste. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The cubano sandwich was delicious and the portion was great, I only wish their drink selection was bigger, but other than that is a place worth trying.
