Flew in from CA for a concert (stayed at the Sonesta nearby) and needed a hearty brunch before my flight back. First Watch exceeded expectations and over delivered. The place was bustling, we got seated promptly and our server was so nice and was always smiling :) The barbacoa chilaquiles were 11/10 and the french toast was 11/10. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Very friendly and respectful staff. Food quality is very good and delicious. Only hoped that I didn't feel rushed, receipt was given before meal was finished for the party, not asked if anything else was needed, it's my mom's birthday I was hoping to get a small peice of cake. Had to flag down a different wait staff member for a to go box. I WILL still come back, with the hopes of just a one time fluke on service.

We had a wonderful breakfast at first watch today! Abner, our server, truly brightened our day with a lovely personal anecdote, and a genuine compassion for me and my boyfriend. We felt personally comforted and welcomed by him. I'd jump at the chance to eat here again.

Very disappointed with our visit today. After we were seated, we were ignored. No one greeted us, no coffee offered. I had to get up and ask for service. Our meals were cold once they were delivered. First Watch is a favorite of ours, but this store in Des Plaines is not one we will return to.
Everything was perfect. Restaurant is clean, waitress was amazing, food was delicious and came out quickly. Five stars

First time and at this location and had a nice brunch. It was a very busy brunch on Saturday but it is expected. I joined waitlist ahead of time so didn’t have much wait. The waiting area is rather small and it was a cold day out. Food came out much quicker than anticipated. Being such a full house, I thought it would take long, but it did not. However, the server seemed to have tables in different sections so it took awhile for us to get her attention if we needed something. She did not check on us. Host was very friendly.
Overall, great experience and I’d return.

We tried the special cornbread, and while it was good, the bottom had places where it was burned. The Tres Leches French toast was good, and everything else was fine. We didn't really understand the Million Dollar Bacon, as it was swimming in some type of syrup, and the pieces were a mediocre size. The tortilla chips under the Chiliquiles weren't great, but the rest had good flavor (we ordered with the meat on the side, and liked that it had a little kick). The food was fresh, and the portions large (aside from the bacon)
