Illusion Bar Grill Cafe - Des Plaines,IL.

One of the best burgers I’ve had in the suburbs. They know their regulars well and are so quick to welcome you and remember you for next time. It’s been my new go-to bar because the food and service is stellar and even the other customers create a good atmosphere. Everyone here actually takes an interest in you and makes it an enjoyable experience every time.

Giving two stars only because our sever was amazing! She was attentive and friendly.

I had come here a last year and remembered how delicious their martinis were. I’m participating in dry January but two weeks ago I had such a craving that I figured it’s worth breaking. Boy was I wrong. The Strawberry Short was so bitter, It was gross. I don’t know if something was spoiled or if it was made wrong. I mixed it with my husband’s Snickers and it made mine better but ruined his. Next I got the Chocolate Mint and it was disgusting. I couldn’t taste anything but mint, it tasted like mint toothpaste mixed with Vicks vapor rub.

Either the bartender had no clue on the ratios of the ingredients or some of the ingredients were bad. I just know this was a total disappointment, especially since I had such a good experience before.

By the way Wednesday Half OF Martini. Seriously it won’t cost that much to reprint that.

Burger had a funk to it like meat had gone bad. We were the ONLY patrons, and the food took like half an hour. Server was nice and fries were great, but we wont be back.

Apple Martini were perfect—smooth, crisp, and just the right balance. The food was delicious from start to finish. Everything came out fresh and full of flavor. Definitely a spot I’d return to.

Awesome food. Just slightly noisy in my opinion. Wait staff was a refreshing change from the usual gen z slackers. You won't be disappointed.

Stopped by this spot while working sales accounts in the area and so glad I did! Nikki was warm and friendly and made me a delicious espresso martini, and the Greek chicken wrap was delicious! My fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy as well! The worst part about coming here was trying to decide what to order! I will definitely be back! Support local!

Hidden gem for brunch. Espresso drinks are delicious and varied. Food was fantastic. $21 for bottomless espresso martinis or $16 for bottomless mimosas

We stumbled across this place heading to our Airbnb. We had just landed and this was our first stop. Great choice. The food and drinks were amazing. The weather was nice enough to sit outside on the patio. There were 6 of us and we all got something different. Everything was yummy. Needless to say you cannot go wrong with any choice from the menu. Nikki was amazing and super friendly. Told us the history of Illusion and they joy it brings to her and the family. She's very proud. As we were leaving she also gave us a magazine and pamphlets to help guide us on our trip. We will definitely be back if ever in Chicago again. Thank you Nikki for welcoming us in and taking great care of us.
