EL MEJOR AL PASTOR EN TODO DES PLAINES!!! Tony and Mikey are the men behind the magic. The quality of the food is not only great, but the craftsmanship behind every dish is incomparable. Las Asadas is not just a good local spot to try; it is an indulgence of delicious, savory meats and cuisine. Bring your friends, your family visiting from out of town, or pick it up for lunch during a tough work week. You will not be disappointed. I can’t stress enough how much these two men care about their business, and it shows in their relationship to the food. The only complaint I can make is that they close at 6, but I know these hardworking gentlemen need to rest to maintain such a high quality of service.

This place has consistently been one of the best Mexican restaurants near O'Hare for close to 20 years. The flame broiled (al carbone) steak sets this restaurant apart from all the other burrito joints around! The tender and flavorful barbacoa is not to be missed and I love the homemade salsas.
The service is always friendly and quick. I agree with other reviews that the food prices are slightly higher than elsewhere, but you are paying for better quality meats and a generous portioned end product. To me, Las Asadas is equal or better than many of the mission style burrito places I've had in California.

Kid-friendliness: Enjoyable good good and lots of room
In my opinion- a true Chicago institution.
Maybe I'm biased. My parents first date was to their location on Oakton. They've been married 40 years now. We hardly ever ate out growing up, but if we did on that rarest occasion, we would share a burrito at Las Asadas in Des Plaines. For all these decades we've only ever had one thing there - burrito with steak, onion, cilantro, cheese, accompanied by their green sauce/salsa. I'll never try anything else because there's no way it can get better than that. It's delicious, and a delightful mom n pop / hole-in-a-wall in the absolute best of ways. The burritos are getting a bit skinnier as the years go by, so I hope it doesn't continue that way. I'll come here every time I visit Chicago so long as they're serving up steak and salsa as they do to this day.

Don’t get me wrong food was delicious! The two gentlemen behind the counter were very nice and friendly! Only problem I have is pricing. It’s ridiculous! I paid 28 dollars for a torta and a taco dinner was 16 dollars The torta was a 12 dollars and was super tiny the tacos were also small and there wasn’t much rice and beans. For a little whole in the wall I would expect the food to be much cheaper. This was my first time going there and probably my last. At least until the change the prices. Sorry to give this bad review but it just doesn’t make any sense for the prices.

I don't post. I don't review. I'm a 130 plumber. I eat all over Chicagoland. Las Asadas has the best steak taco/ burrito anywhere. If you like skirt steak come here. (Or on western). I'm a Des Plaines life time resident. Been here 50 years. Still, the best around. This is a taco joint. No giant margarita, no chocolate pinyata. Just good eats.

So my first time here just today. I thought about doing an order on line but instead just went in and glad I did. Folks are very friendly and willing to offer suggestions as needed. I did the tacos. They are GREAT!! Really fresh. Great flavors!! I tried one each of Steak - great meaty bites perfect flavor/ Barbacoa- just melts in your mouth/ Al Pastor-spicy but nice bites of steak. Oh and get the lemonade- not the small one! Wish I had gotten the larger one once I tasted it!! 3 tacos were more than enough to fill me up. Plenty of parking, quick service I will be back for sure!! PS :this place is Jeep Friendly!!!
