Food was delicious. The reason I deducted stars was because the portions didn’t match the prices. Why is a cheese (no meat) enchilada plate with barely any rice and beans $18? A large guacamole (albeit, delicious and fresh) is a small at TBK and they charge $10 for it. Good food, but small portions at ridiculous prices, in my opinion. Would love to come here more often when the craving for Mexican food hits, but I can make my own Mexican meal for half the price at home.
The atmosphere, people and the food are excellent. A beautiful wall mural. easy parking. The variety of home dishes and there are a lot. One of our favorite places for food in DP.
I feel like this is a Des Plaines hidden gem. I've tried a half a dozen Mexican restaurants in the area and this is by far the best. I enjoy the chicken enchiladas verdes and my partner is impressed by their mole sauce. We also order the guacamole regularly. I am a repeat customer and both dine in and order take out. I've have never been disappointed so far. Definitely try this place if you have not already!
