If you’re looking for the perfect blend of great drinks, welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service, Miner Tavern in Des Plaines is the place to be. The bartenders are friendly and know their craft, the cocktails are expertly made, and the beer selection has something for everyone. The vibe strikes the perfect balance between cozy and lively—whether you’re stopping by for a casual drink or a night out with friends. The attention to detail in the decor gives it a unique character, and the food? Way better than your average bar fare! If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. This place is pure gold!
Stopped by this bar after a show at the Des Plaines Theatre, purchased a round of drinks for my group and service was fine. Then spent $20 on their Touch Tunes machine only to realize the songs the Touch Tunes machine said it was playing, were not playing in the bar. When I asked the bartender about it, she said nothing to me but then switched over the aux to the Touch Tunes machine. Why would you offer this machine and take money from patrons not to use it? Wont be returning to this bar.

Horrible service. The bartender will give you the NPC stare when they see you need a drink and just walk off. Go somewhere better.

Great meeting place, next to the DesPlaines theater. Excellent pre-concert venue before the concert.

Small local bar. Overall clean with a nice atmosphere. 90s music was playing while I was there. Decent selection of beer and hard liquor. I’m not sure if they have a kitchen or not.
The owners went out of their way to help us when my wife accidentally left her purse on a Saturday night, and they are closed Sundays! Wouldn’t take any compensation from me! Thank you so much to the wonderful people at the Miner!
You never know what you're gonna get here but generally, it's a good time with friendly people. It's definitely a neighborhood bar vibe.
