Wow..Fantastic food...The sushi is top noch...
The name of the place has recently changed. The place is a bit misleading because it looks from the outside like a cheap, greasy, fake sushi strip-mall fleapit, but it's nothing but. Admittedly it's a bit pricey for its decoration, but the food is top-notch sushi, with elegant contemporary cuisine recipes and above all, first class raw ingredients that could pass in any serious restaurant in Hamamatsu. Legit good food, rations slightly small for my taste and price, but a safe bet. Top stuff.
We just had dinner today based on the reviews here, the first time we drove by without noticing it but got back en route in 2 mins, once we arrived the staff welcomed us in the most friendly way and made sure our table of 6 was comfortable, the menu options were so many we couldn't decide right away but the hostess was kind enough to offer her recommendations and explained all the menu. When the food arrived, from the presentation, the beautiful dishes and THE TASTE!!! From miso soup, to our specialty rolls to the beef box and amazing dessert, the entire experience surpassed our expectations.10/10 would recommend and we hope to stop by next time we're in town
We come here for lunch a lot. The drinks are good. They have good Sake selections. Sushi is really yummy, but I really love the Chicken Bento Box, they give you a lot of food. I like the salad they always give you and then ice cream at the end!Clean and lovely place. It is small though, so before Covid, it was always yam packed.
This is the first review I'm super disappointed with my rating as I really loved the food here. We came here first time on my bday and was pleasantly surprised with one the best dragon rolls I ever ate. But the second time was today and they actually kicked us out because we had a child who is 2 year old. They right away told us before we sat in our booth that they cannot seat us because he isn't vaccinated. We even showed the official page that states the law that vaccination proof is only for ages 5 and above and our son is not eligible for a vaccine. They were so concerned that another customer would be uncomfortable with having a 2 year old dining at their restaurant that the cook rudely said we need to leave. I even offered that I will explain to anyone complaining but the server was so confused concerned. I feel for her that she isn't well informed but are also losing good amount of customers by enforcing a law that is not even true. I am very bummed with the experience that I'm never going to come back to one of my favorite sushi restaurants I found. It's shameful.
Delicious quality sushi at a reasonable price. The inside is cozy and well decorated. Highly recommend!
I have been to many different sushi restaurants around Chicago and the country. This one is one of the best I have been too! The place is small, but romantic, the food is excellent, the sauces are out of this world, and the pieces of nigiri or rolls challenge any sushi restaurant out their for their exceptional taste and quality as well as their presentation! In sum, this is a really excellent sushi restaurant a gem!
I really like this place but they've been doing some werid stuff with there business hours and definitely losing customers from it. This used to be the spot for late night sushi now they close at 9
The sushi was good. I enjioyed the various unique rolls they had.I've been having nightmares about the miso soup though. They give you this thin cup, but a standard size Asian soup spoon. It doesn't fit and you spend so much effort to get the tiniest bit of soup. I couldn't even drink the whole thing because i was so upset about the design decisions that went into this.Overall, would recommend.

Best sushi place in 50 miles radius. Seriously.
Wonderful eat-in experience. Fantastic miso soup. Ordered salmon sake don, yellow tail rolls and salmon sashimi, and a chicken teriyaki. This was some of the best yellow tail I have had in 18 months. The spicy scallops were a surprise delight.Highly recommended. Would love to try some other dishes as well. The seafood udon looked fantastic!
Sorry folks for everyone that thought this place was legit. It's not! I'm not sure why people thought it was so awesome but here's objective reasons why it's not all that.Firstly the sashimi salad was good. Nice mix of vegetables with hair like daikon showing off the chefs knife skills. But it goes downhill from there. The fish pieces were paper thin to begin with. It didn't seem all that fresh either. Second the wasabi was watered down. Yes, it's not real wasabi which is just like 99% of other sushi places out there. But they mixed it with way too much water so it was runny like soup. Lastly and most important was the rice. Every person that knows sushi knows that rice is the most important component. Not much skill required in the fish other than cutting it right and making sure it's fresh. But the rice is where the skill shows through. This rice was heavy and soggy. It was too lightly seasoned and a little over cooked. The rice at Mitsuwa food court is actually better. I'm sorry to be a little too blunt during these troubled times but there are better places out there.
Mostly I purchase fish to cook at home. Always fresh.
This place simply knows how to satisfy their clients. Consistently with a super nice attitude. The food is conveniently priced, constantly fresh and clean.
