It’s been a since I ate at the South Barrington location back around 2016-2017, but I enjoyed eating at this sandwich fast food restaurant chain, after eating at familiar fast food restaurant chains for many years.
Van is an excellent worker, he is always polite. I’m very satisfied with his service and he has good recommendations!
Excellent Sandwiches!
Very good customer service
Welcoming amazing staff. Would recommend this Potbelly over any!! So familiar and kind. They care about service.
Frequent customer of this establishment. So disappointed with the experience last night. Service was great, food was okay but it was like eating in a freezer. I swear it was warmer outside than in the restaurant. The workers blammed that it is an old building (not buying that ) after talking with others in the area it is known that the heat is not on or barely on. Don't visit here in the middle of winter unless you like eating with your coat on.
Beware if you are Latino! Seems they don’t like Latinos! 👎

I absolutely love Potbelly sandwiches! The fresh ingredients and unique flavor combinations make each bite a delicious experience. The bread is always perfectly toasted and the fillings are generous. I especially enjoy the Turkey Club with avocado and bacon - it's a flavor explosion in every bite. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere at Potbelly make it a great spot for a quick lunch or casual dinner. I highly recommend trying their sandwiches - you won't be disappointed!

I ordered a salad and half of it had bad lettuce not worth the money or the walk to get it. They could’ve done better.

I was glared down and expected to leave a tip on the credit card machine.
That's not the way to get a tip.

I have a very small appetite. I tried to order a kids meal even thoughI am much older than a kid. I was told I couldn't have one. I commented that I have done this many times in the past. The manager told me that corporate was not letting anyone get a kids meal unless it was a kid. I didn't have the opportunity to say that I would have paid for an adult meal...I just wanted the smaller portion. The manager told me to never come back. I said I woudn't. I took my 72 year old, 5'4", 124 pound body and starterd to limp to my home across the street. I was stopped by a police officer. He told me that the manger called the cops and he wanted to make sure that I never ever returned to this Potbelly. So...he called the cops because he couldn't sell me a kids meal. I would have forgotten about this whole incident. By the way., nothing happened except that this Potbelly lost loyal customer of 20+ years.

To whom it may concern,"Josh" has a seriously nasty attitude and I feel his management position & employment there need to be deliberated on and seriously reconsidered.I had an absolutely awful experience when out to lunch today at this particular Potbelly Sandwich Works thanks to Josh's terrible customer service, poor attitude, and passive aggressive behavior.I'm a longtime potbelly customer and had eaten at the original potbelly in Lincoln Park for many years and I'm actually really sorry to say this particular location has just lost my business.I very clearly asked this nice young man for a "big wreck on wheat" and emphatically asked for the "OREEEEEOOOOOO SHAKE" (It's a time honored tradition at every Potbelly) He put the sandwich together and onto the conveyor while I'm looking at chips and sodas. I step over to wait for my sandwich, but he never actually made my sandwich, he just walked away to make the shake. Not hearing customers is one thing, but going back and forth creating problems and arguments about not hearing someone, getting in their face, and placing fault/blaming them after the fact is something else entirely.I asked for his manager and he gave me the whole I AM THE MANAGER schpiel while parading himself around for validation. It may just be the way I was raised, but it's my feeling and personal opinion: Anyone employed in any management position anywhere, should always try to maintain the well being of the company and it's patrons with a professional attitude and demeanor. The name of the game is to increase customer satisfaction for repeat business. I already knew I couldn't expect any better from him, so I had asked if there was a different manager around. No? Okay.He wasn't wearing a name tag or anything official, so I asked for his name to reference when filing a complaint. So, on top of not handling this minor inconvenience well, and also knowing I was a bit short of breath, standing around waiting for a sandwich that wasn't coming. He now definitely knows I'm an upset customer. What does he do? Immediately after I asked for his name, this creep leans all the way over the counter into my personal space to look down my shirt into my jacket (at my nametag) while asking: "Ok, and you're ________ right?" <-- That was just so cringey & that's when I said I'm uncomfortable & promptly left. They say to be kind, because you never really know what someone is going through. Sorry for the tirade.. but for anyone reading: Time is money and & I have spent my time writing this tonight because I suffer from a disability and have been a Type 1 diabetic for over 30 years. I wear an insulin pump and continual glucose monitor to manage my disability. I found myself experiencing a case of hypoglycemia at lunchtime today and it was not a voluntary decision after he refused to complete my order, that I had to resort to finding food elsewhere while physically weak and short of breath.Ownership NEEDS to make some adjustments if they want to see another nickel.Think about it: A manager screaming "Yeah & don't come back!" at someone who literally NEEDS food with a bunch of other customers around, is not a good look for this store.Removing Josh would be a really good start.

The solution to a delivery driver going to the wrong address and cancelling my order isn’t to say “I don’t know what you want me to do about it.” Here’s a suggestion: remake my order?? Worst customer service ever.
