Our group of five enjoyed a round table where it was easy to talk, excellent food, and attentive staff. Shared several items- mushroom flatbread, beets, Brussels, then we had individual entrees as well.
Excellent menu with portions big enough to share. The trout and chicken were outstanding. Service was also excellent. We are dining here again tonight to try the other options in the menu.
Excellent food, as good as Truckee restaurants. Can be a bit noisy from families with kids. More an after ski restaurant than a romantic date venue. We'll go monthly
Food and service were excellent. Big menu change from previous Sugar Bowl dining. Enjoyed the family style menu now as it was fun to try many dishes to share!
The food at Yarrow is divine- we had a party of 5 and shared a few things. Everything was absolutely delicious. Favorites include the gnocchi, lamb meatballs, chick pea stew, beet salad, and mushroom flatbread. The ambience is also lovely, as is the service. Brava to Sugar Bowl for this serious upgrade to slopeside dining!
Delicious food, family friendly. They do have a kids menu (cheese pizza, butter noodles, chicken tenders, kids chicken and kids fish) that was not yet printed. Everything was great, veggies were a highlight.
Food was delicious and the service was fast and very good. It's very loud so don't expect to have a quiet conversation.
Had a wonderful meal with great food and drinks—better than expected, especially for so soon after opening. The service was perfect. So happy Yarrow is open!
The food and experience at this newly revamped restaurant are both terrific. Most plates are for sharing, with highlights in vegetables and the mains -- like the pillowy gnocchi, succulent caesar salad, savory fries (cooked in beef tallow), salted roast beets, and roast chicken. The wine list is one of the best I have seen, with a terrific range in quality and price from both California and European producers (plus a few from South America), both by the glass and bottle and with many nice options. The beer list is also very good, with some hard kombuchas too.
The food was amazing. We love taking the gondola to the restaurant. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We'll go back for sure

Fantastic experience at the brand new Yarrow. From the cocktails to the Parker House Rolls to the perfectly cooked proteins, we had a fabulous birthday celebration meal.
I visited Yarrow with my family of five last night, and the food and cocktails were so delicious. I can't believe I could enjoy food like this in Tahoe - and at a ski resort! The burrata with grilled grapes was really unique - I never thought of that combo and it was awesome. The salted beet salad was fresh and delicious, and the seasonal trout with cream sauce and fennel was the best fish I've tasted in a while. The wagyu steak was cooked to perfection of medium-rare and we had a side dish of the duck fat potato rosti, which was super tasty and my daughter renamed “super fancy fries.” I'm excited for when the season starts and we can enjoy this spot post skiing and take the gondola - it will be a super special experience. We'll be back!
I visited sugar bowl yesterday with a friend of mine for the first time. We had a late breakfast and I have to say everything was spot-on. It is a great place the food the atmosphere and the service was what you would expect from a restaurant that started in 1921. If you are in a Des plaines downtown area please stop in at sugar bowl and check them out I'm sure you won't be disappointed! This restaurant has the quality of food that you are looking for! 2

Wow! What a find!! This place is outstanding!!! First, let me start with the food...outstanding and super fresh! You can have breakfast items or lunch items. I had the tuna melt. Best tuna melt I have ever had! Crunchy toasted bread, great tuna salad mix with crunchy celery, cheese. It came with fries. Super fresh, hot, crunchy fries. THEN...it came with soup as well! Wow! The soup choices that day were chicken noodle or potato. I had chicken noodle, my husband had potato...both outstanding!!!
The soup was so good we ordered more to take home!
The service....super friendly and a clearly efficient team!
The environment....its the original diner. With diners slowly disappearing....this is a real gem that all should go to!
Thank you Sugar Bowl....you have new customers and we will be back often!!!!

Wow! What a find!!! With diners slowly disappearing....this was a gem to find! You can have breakfast, brunch, or lunch here, By the way..,.everything about this diner is the original stuff. I am assuming it was built and opened in the 1950s. Original sign out front,..still there. A true diner and a gem! My husband and I had a wonderful lunch. But again...the menu is anything you want for breakfast and lunch. I had the tuna melt which came with fries and choice of homemade soup (that day it was chicken noodle or potato...both delicious). My husband had a turkey blt which came with all the same sides. It was delicious, best tuna melt I have ever had. Fries hot, fresh, crispy. Soup delicious! My husbands was just as delicious. Nothing was old or stale....all SUPER fresh! We are new customers but we will for sure be back....OFTEN! The staff was clearly a team. And the Chefs..,.outstanding!! Thank you,...we will be back soon!!!
