The Basil Tree has always had great service and great food. We definitely need to make this a weekly visit to avoid the basic bar food everywhere else.

We had a table of 11 for a birthday celebration and we had my nephew with us and he has autism. There are times that we get looks or people just are not understanding. My nephew spilled a drink and the owner I believe it was came to help clean it up and was so nice about it. Some people don’t engage in conversation with my nephew as sad as that is and the girl/hostess there made a point to talk to him two or three times. I honestly was so impressed with the kindness of everyone. The food was a bonus because it was great as always, but the genuine niceness of everyone really won me over. Thank you to Basil Tree for your kindness towards my nephew.

We love this place. The food and service are both beyond excellent. We were there with a large group tonight and the staff was great and so attentive even to the kids at the table. I normally don’t love cannolis but I would eat the ones from here every day if I could. Don’t skip dessert! This is a top notch restaurant. Definitely worth every penny. Don’t miss out on this gem.

I have been here a number of times. The food is always consistently great. The service is always good. The atmosphere is always perfect.
Where do I start...I will begin by saying there isn't much open in Dixon, on a Monday evening. It was a half way mark for a blind date and the arrangements were made by my date. It was a success, all of it! The atmosphere is adorable and appropriate for a small bistro. Only about 15 tables as far as I could see but yet quiet and serene. I would make reservations even on a Monday Eve. It's worth a wait if needed. The food....I wish I could still be sitting there eating the delicious rib eye and cheese ravioli. I seriously have not seen a steak that nice in quite some time. You can tell the chef put his all into these dishes. You can tell they took their time for the customer and pride in what they do. It honestly was a beautiful site and the flavor was incredible. Good portion size as well. We took leftovers home. That's always a good sign. I like to eat. Lol. Hangry is not a good look on me. So go! Tell them Tina sent u and remember to call ahead....I would. What a perfect 1st date, Tina

We had a wonderful experience at Basil Tree last night, where we came for my birthday dessert. We had been to another restaurant for dinner and had a terrible experience, so we were gratified to see the Basil Tree had not closed for the evening. We were welcomed and seated immediately. The atmosphere was lovely, and we had a wonderful dessert. It saved the evening for us! Thank you Basil Tree!!
