I really wanted to like Dan’s Big Slice Pizza, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment from start to finish. First off, the place has a dated, almost grimy feel to it—certainly not the welcoming atmosphere I was hoping for. The decor looks like it hasn’t been updated in years, and it didn’t help that the staff seemed more focused on chatting with each other than providing decent service.
As for the pizza... where do I even begin? The crust was soggy and limp, not the crispy, golden New York-style I was expecting. The sauce tasted like it came from a can, bland and overly sweet. The cheese was rubbery, and there was barely enough of it to cover the whole slice. I opted for pepperoni, and it was more grease than flavor, with the pepperoni pieces just sitting there, lifeless.
The worst part? The slice was lukewarm by the time it hit my table, as if it had been sitting around for ages. When I asked the server about it, they just shrugged and said, “It’s the way it comes.” Honestly, that kind of indifference sums up the entire experience. The portions weren’t even that large, especially for the price.
I really wanted to like Dan’s Big Slice, but it felt like a waste of both time and money. There are so many better pizza spots in the area—don’t bother with this one unless you enjoy mediocre, poorly made pizza.
