Amazing patio! Wonderful service! Lots of fun drinks. The variety of food is unique and the tacos are absolute fancy! My favorite was the lavender margarita!! Definition check this place out, well worth having a meal or just stopping for a drink!

Delicious food. Well paired combinations of ingredients and they didn't skimp on the amount. Definitely a place to try and we'll be back again... and again... and again...

We stopped in last night. It was about 30 minutes before close. The young lady (Kammy ... sure hope I spelled it correctly) waiting on us was great! She is a very humble and inviting human. The food was great (recommended to us by a friend) our first time going and we will return again and again. Can not stress enough the food was amazing!!!

Great ambience and music. Loved the aesthetic of the interior and exterior layout with great inside/outside seating options.

However, the food my wife and I had was cold and bland. We went in with high prospectives in trying this modern take on americanized mexican food (variety of tacos/tortas/appetizers), however, we were let down with the tacos we had; along with there being no actual salsa options. That being said, the best part of our meal were the nachos, which were on par with other bar/grilles like Tap 22 and Barrel House.

Our server was nice and friendly but she took long to attend us several times, including taking about 15 minutes to get us a cholula hot sauce bottle to eat my tacos with (due to lack of salsa). Additionally she took a while to check us out.

Place sucks. 3 women and none of them would break away to sit a table of 3. I went to the bar, the girl there said stand by the door. Stood by the door. Lady came and mumbled something and walked away serving tables. So if you walk ik and the place is busy, expect horrible service... actually no service. Jenny's box isn't a place I wanna go back to

As expected, this place delivers on great food and a very chill ambiance. I appreciate the low volume background music that allows for conversation. It's pricey, but very clean, tidy, and tasty.

Poor uncomfortable seating, loud unnecessary music. $7 for chips and salsa when other restaurants put them on your table for free. The menu is sparse the prices are ridiculous. The food was tasty, the margarita was good, but not enough to come back for another visit.

Creative tacos and delicious margaritas, in a beautifully renovated industrial area. And, I should add, the service was super fantastic.

We ordered the Rock Island Line and the Happy Fresca tacos, with a side of twisted corn and sweet potatoes, to go. While we waited, we tried one of the large selection of tequilas available. Staff was very friendly, and our food was ready quickly.

The tacos were well worth the price, which we thought was quite reasonable. Our favorite were the Happy Fresca. We liked the corn and sweet potatoes as well. And the tequila we sipped while waiting was fantastic.

We can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!

The Honest Bite

Jenny’s Boxcar is one of those places that quietly ruins all other spots for you. You’ll leave thinking about the queso for days, wondering if it would be weird to go back twice in one week (it’s not).

Let’s talk about that queso. Hands down the best in the Quad Cities. I don’t even know how to describe it—it’s creamy, rich, slightly addictive, and honestly worth every penny (even if you wish it came in a Big Gulp). And the chips? They taste homemade, crispy with just the right amount of salt, and perfect for scooping like you mean it. You’ll finish the basket. Don’t fight it.

Their tacos are just as good—loaded with flavor, unique, and never boring. It’s not your typical Mexican menu, but that’s what makes it fun. You won’t find combo plates with rice and beans here, but you will find fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and creative pairings that hit every time.

And the margaritas? Real. As in, made with actual ingredients like lime juice and tequila—not that neon green syrupy mystery mix some places serve that tastes like a melted Jolly Rancher. These are smooth, citrusy, and perfectly balanced—the kind of margaritas that remind you why you fell in love with margaritas in the first place.

If you’re craving Mexican food with a twist (and a side of dangerously good queso), Jenny’s Boxcar is 100% worth the visit.

It is over priced. The food was really bad. And the drinks were not good at all. I will never go back again. It was a table of twenty and everybody was complaining how bad the food was. And it was cold when they bought it to the table. And the bar tender did not no how to make drinks. And she had on booty shorts which was distracting. The place needs to close down. It is not a good place to go. The people that worked there was very rude.
