3/29/24, 4:25PM - we hoped for a quiet bite in the Oyster Bar. What we ended up with was quite the opposite. The bar wasn't busy when we arrived, but the staff seemed to be chaotic, which we understand sometimes happens. The server brought us water, and that was the last time he visited the table. We waited for over a half hour and never even got to a drink order. The server made eye contact as he walked by, but still didn't stop back at the table. We decided to leave, and the only acknowledgement we received was a question from another server about whether we were leaving. No apology. No "please stop again". Nothing. Very disappointing experience. We happily took our business to another local establishment.Note - as we left we noticed the folks that held the door for us already had a table full of food.

The scallops were underdone and smelled like ammonia… other than it was alright. But was very disappointed in the scallops.
Mahi Mahi was great. Crayfish etoufee would have been great....except it was too spicy hot. Served with half the spice HEAT, and a bottle of spice at the table for individual tastes, would make it great. Tons of Crayfish compared to other etoufee samplings.Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy. Ramps into restaurant as well as inside.

Jonah's and next to it, Oyster Bar, are my favorite seafood restaurants in Peoria (IL). Jonah's was operating when I first came to Peoria in 1977, and the Oyster Bar was added around 1985. The Jonah's side was updated several years ago and provides a great view of the Illinois river and downtown Peoria: Making the atmosphere of the two restaurants amazing. Jonah's has a full menu of delicious seafood entrees but also many other options for those who aren't crazy about seafood. So you don't have to worry about everyone in your party liking fish because there are numerous other options available for meat eaters. The Oyster Bar is more informal, and has an eclectic menu which has various seafood, sandwich and appetizer choices. All good. I worked in Long Island at a seafood restaurant at Montauk Point for three summers in the late sixties and ate at many excellent seafood houses. Not one of them was any better than what you will experience at Jonah's/Oyster Bar. Highly recommended.Parking: I've never had a problem finding a spot but it gets very busy at certain times so best to go early or a little later to avoid crowds, especially on the weekends.Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible.on both sides.
staff was great and the food was delicious. enjoyed our visit and will be backParking: prime time dinner spots were minimal but we found one easily

Hi! ?? it’s me again. I left a review on 2/14 and you responded later that evening. I emailed you at the address provided on 2/16.So was your reply to save face because I emailed you last Friday 2/16 and still have not received a response. Extremely disappointed in your customer service and follow up. I actually thought you might step up to make it right but here we are a week later and all I hear a crickets ?

Very much an old-school seafood restaurant, it gets pretty busy on the weekends.Service was a bit disappointing, especially considering the price. Food was pretty good though.

I think a 22 dollar martini is too much to pay. Wish they had prices on drinks.
