Jonah's and next to it, Oyster Bar, are my favorite seafood restaurants in Peoria (IL). Jonah's was operating when I first came to Peoria in 1977, and the Oyster Bar was added around 1985. The Jonah's side was updated several years ago and provides a great view of the Illinois river and downtown Peoria: Making the atmosphere of the two restaurants amazing. I forgot how much I loved Jonah's! The wait was reasonable for being Valentine's Day, the food was amazing! The waitress was sweet but I'm not sure she knew the menu well, as I asked details to decide on 2 dishes. The music was all over the place, from Rap to 70's ballads, I felt a more continuous genre would have been more fitting, just took away a touch from the day it was and ambience. Mahi Mahi was great. Crayfish etoufee would have been great....except it was too spicy hot. Served with half the spice HEAT, and a bottle of spice at the table for individual tastes, would make it great. Tons of Crayfish compared to other etoufee samplings.Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy. Ramps into restaurant as well as inside.
