We made the reservation, it went through and when we got there it was closed, deserted, gates down and no one in the gatehouse. We received no notification that it was closed and have no idea what the place is like.
Open table was taking reservations so we booked our reservation. When we got to the restaurant, it was not even open. The gates to access the grounds were closed. The restaurant's website made no mention that it was closed for the season and in fact linked to the menu so not sure how people are to know the restaurant is not open.
Nice place, atmosphere ok, quite pricey once was

The menu was wonderful and drinks were creative delicious. The view was nice over there the lake- felt like we were in a mountain resort. The manager, Chad, made our dining experience 5 star!
Four of us dined last Wed. My wife and friend had the Turkey Club and soup. I had the B***** Smash Burger and my friend the tenderloin. The burger was delicious as usual, probably the best in the area. Tenderloin is not the giant plate size but adequate and flavourful. My wife said the Turkey Club was one of the best she had ever had. However the absolute hit was the soup. It was chicken in a Broth with orzo. Each of us after tasting said, "Oh wow!" This should be on the menu permanently. It should be their house soup. Great earthly fresh flavor. Absolutely one of the BEST!
Second time here and the same young lady waited on me. She as well as the lone male working with her are very proficient, observant and efficient. I've noticed that more women are wearing corduroy pants these days. Nice change in fashion toward the conservative direction. Anyway the place was hopping as it was last time, but this time more so. The food here is top notch and I don't believe you'll get a better burger anywhere. The menu isn't large, but that's reasonable and okay by me. All of the employees were busy bee's and seemed to enjoy their jobs. The inside had many dinners and the large patio was filled. I have no idea as to how they figure out who gets what meal and drinks without screwing up, but they just buzz along. There was a Tom Petty tribute singer on the patio tonight and it was a bit frosty. People were out there all bundled up, eating and drinking have a marvelous time. Lots and lots of children, but under control have fun family times. Made me smile for sure. The poor singer was about to freeze to death, but he put on his stocking cap and jacket and just sang and picked that getar. They do have two large fire pits and lots of people were utilizing those. Anyway I plan on returning at some point. Maybe Nel or Karen will show up or maybe even another friend. Never know does one.

The food was good but not anything out of the ordinary. Wine selection was minimal on a Saturday night as Friday night was busy we were told. There was one white and one red available. The service was great and the food is good and high priced which we expected. When you pay higher prices you expect someone to shop and restock wine etc. and all offerings should be available. All that being said....yes I would go back for sure. I hope that is helpful definitely hope to see you there. You should try this this restaurant as there are none in the area like it. Enjoy
We sat outside for dinner- loved the bistro lighting, music selection and tables were niceley spaced so we didn't feel on top of other guests. We received excellent service, and our food looked just as good as it tasted. Excellent!!! Our only complaint was that they only had 3 beers on tap and none of them were great... we tried all 3. Round two we went for one of the signature cocktails, and they were MUCH better! We would certainly go back, but fingers crossed something of higher quality will be on tap.

The main house and bunk house suited us perfectly. Cozy, clean, and has anything you would need to entertain. VERY secluded. The grounds were spectacular. a perfect place to feel like you've gotten away and checked out from the world. A group of high school girl friends of 1978 had planned our stay for a year. Karen, Kim and all at Sankoty Lakes were such a good group to work with and I felt their mission was to make sure we were taken care of and that we had a pleasurable stay. Mission accomplished! If husbands were allowed, they would have liked the fiching and canoeing. We liked the walks.
At this high end campground we found peace and enjoyed our time here. We stayed in the tent #19 I highly recommend this specific one for the logistics. We actually stayed during the week as the price is affordable for a staycation. We walked the grounds... next time we will bring bikes to experience their hiking trails. The lake was small and pretty. It rained and was windy we were warm in the tent. They have a swimming beach next to the restaurant very nice it was too cold but in the summer could be fun. We got to kayak the man who helped was kind. $10 an hour included everything you need. We walked over to the Wooly B***** for lunch watch their hours they were not open our whole stay plan for food etc. It was okay. Average cost. Cool decor everywhere. We purchased $10 small bundle of wood. Which ended up being damp and smoked us out. The fire pits are nice. The furniture outside was comfy. The babbling Brooke was a nice touch. The tent was clean, warm, noisy during the storm, comfy bed. What would have made it better? Bring kcups Hot plate(if it rains you only have a microwave) A loveseat to watch tv(you have two chairs) Prepare for rainy days! Lovely high end camping Very peaceful Slept great!
Have been there a number of times. Had the Burger and sweet potato fries....very good as usual. Just a nice....and unusual place to have a relaxing meal in the Peoria area. Hope it remains successful.
Four of us had lunch Saturday. One had the Woolly B***** Smash Burger, it was fantastic as usual. Another had the Pork Tenderloin, it was decent. Two had the Turkey Club Sandwich. The turkey was ample and flavorful the sour dough bread wonderful. However the absolute hit of the day was the soup of the day, Beef Brisket. It consisted of nice chunks of beef brisket in a flavorful beef consomme layered over a bed of rice. Blended together it could almost be eaten with a fork. I hope this will be a regular menu item.
Absolutely amazing food! The patio looking over the lakes along with the sunset is beautiful.
