Just bought $75 bucks worth of food. My wife didn’t get cheese for her CHEESE fries. I didn’t get hot peppers for a cheesy beef with HOT peppers, all beverages had little to no ice in them. I can’t find to many places that have great service anymore, to bad this has happened several times. I haven’t said anything In the past in hopes it was just a fluke. Guess not.

We frequently visit the Elgin location. Staff is always friendly, food is very tasty (fries are great!) and very generous in size and the price is below the nearby competition.
However, what will keep us from returning is the obvious lack of cleanliness. There’s a strange sewer type odor, drink and condiment counter top, tables and floor are dirty and the interior trash is overflowing.

This review is really just for their Tuesday hot dog special-unfortunately we have tried several times and not sure what the problem is but the hot dogs are far from hot. Today was the worst, not sure if they were even cooked. Literally just like it came out of the fridge.
It's a hotdog and Italian beef place. Saturday is $1 milkshakes, and Tuesday is $1 hotdogs. Don't forget to tip the staff, especially if buying the $1 specials. They also have great burgers. The cheesy beef with sweet peppers is my favorite. We'll ofter dine in on a Tuesday and buy two dogs and a large fry. Fries are very good.

Accidentally placed an online order to the wrong Elgin store so i called and asked for a refund since the store is far away from where a i work. When i called at 12:11PM i was told that “They couldnt issue a refund since the order was already ready” which is slightly weird because my app said it wouldnt be ready until 12:40 PM. Even the guy at the store on Randall Rd in Elgin said if i called id most likely get a refund since it was before the pick up time and explained that it happens pretty often. Maybe the manager was having a bad day or had a power trip. 10 dollars isnt cheap now a days for a burger and what where you going to do with the unpicked up food anyway? Im sure the company makes more than enough to spot 10 dollars back to a customer who made an honest mistake. Its not like im asking for money back on food i didnt enjoy. Terrible policy if thats the actual policy. Never had a problem with beef shack until now.
